  • Patent number: 7501636
Abstract: A photodetector, detector array, and method of operation thereof in which nanojunctions are formed by crossing layers of nanowires. The crossing nanowires are separated by a few nm thick electrical barrier layer which allows tunneling. Each nanojunction is coupled to a slot antenna for efficient and frequency-selective coupling to photo signals. The nanojunctions formed at the intersection of the crossing wires defines a vertical tunneling diode that rectifies the AC signal from a coupled antenna and generates a DC signal suitable for reforming a video image. The nanojunction sensor allows multi/hyper spectral imaging of radiation within a spectral band ranging from terahertz to visible light, and including infrared (IR) radiation. This new detection approach also offers unprecedented speed, sensitivity and fidelity at room temperature.

  • Publication number: 20080034219
Abstract: In one aspect, the invention relates to generating a trusted communication channel with a client. An agent module is provided at the client along with a task set including one or more tasks. One or more client components needed to complete each of the tasks of the task set is determined, and it is further determined whether each of the needed client components is trustworthy. An equivalent component for components determined to be untrustworthy may be provided.

  • Publication number: 20070186106
Abstract: Requests to gain access to secure resources are adjudicated according to authentication policies that include rules based on user-states derived from multiple heterogeneous access-control systems.

  • Publication number: 20070136792
Abstract: User authentication requests to computer systems are accelerated by selectively comparing user-provided biometric authentication credentials to a subset of credentials. If the user-supplied credential is not recognized, an alternate form of authentication is requested. Valid login events are used to update the subset such that subsequent authentication requests are handled in an expedited manner.
