Abstract: A system and methodology for collaborating. The system as illustrated is comprised of at least two computing appliances, each of the computing appliances for use by a respective user. Each of the computing appliances is comprised of a processor, memory, communications interface, input apparatus, and display apparatus. Each said display apparatus provides a respective display presentation of a common shared underlying image. The respective input apparatus is responsive to input by the respective user to provide annotation data representative of a display image of annotations associated with the respective user.

Abstract: Devices having piezoelectric material structures integrated with substrates are described. Fabrication techniques for forming such devices are also described. The fabrication may include bonding a piezoelectric material wafer to a substrate of a differing material. A structure, such as a resonator, may then be formed from the piezoelectric material wafer.

Abstract: An Internet-based system involves a database and search capabilities for connecting patients with healthcare providers, e.g., physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, treatment facilities, etc., and further enables such providers to reach patients with whom they may not otherwise come into contact. A patient may access the healthcare provider information through a search conducted using a search engine, such as Google, Yahoo, etc. Alternatively, a patient may access the company Web site's predetermined Web page that provides search capabilities on its database. A patient may research a healthcare provider based on criteria specified by the patient. Information provided to the patient may be in the form of a report, profile, ratings, etc., including patient-provided information, physician-verified information, and information verified by an independent third party.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing assembly for use with mop-like devices. The assembly adapts to mop-like devices and utilizes a collapsible fluid reservoir pouch preferably contained within a substantially rigid housing. The collapsible fluid reservoir pouch permits fluid dispensing without need for venting. The assembly preferably utilizes one or the other of a fluid conducting needle and a venting needle found in a fluid disbursement fitment of commercially available mop-like devices, but the needles are not used to puncture membranes in a fluid reservoir. Rather, they provide mechanical force to actuate a valve that is used to permit flow of fluid from the fluid reservoir to the fluid disbursement fitment.

Abstract: A system and methodology for collaborating. A plurality of computing appliances for use by a respective plurality of users, provides a combined display presentation of collaboration responsive to input of annotations made by at least two of the users working simultaneously on a common project having an associated common display presentation comprising a base image display combined with a display of the annotations as made by the at least two of the users. The system is comprised of layer storage comprising a plurality of separate respective data layers, providing associatively mapped storage of respective user data wherein each said data layer is associated with a respective user. Each said data layer of storage stores respective user data that is used to generate a respective display of respective user annotations as input by the respective user, as made relative to a display presentation of the base image display.

Abstract: A folding headrest apparatus for massage consisting of an upper plate with a cushion attached thereto for the purpose of placing a massage receiver's head face-down. A rotatable mounted mechanism attached to an upper plate and an upwardly extending base portion for the purpose of rotating said upper plate generally 180-degrees. A lower plate portion for inserting between a mattress and box spring of a typical bed that meets said upwardly extending base portion at a generally 90-degree angle. A removable spacer element(s) sandwiched between the cushion and upper plate for the purpose of adjusting height of the cushion relative to a lower plate.

Abstract: Disclosed is a topical skin composition and corresponding methods for its use that includes a first MMP-1 inhibitor, wherein said first inhibitor is an extract from Burretiodendron hsienmu, a second MMP-1 inhibitor, wherein said second inhibitor is an extract from Bauhinia brachycarpa var. cavaleriei, and a third MMP-1 inhibitor, wherein said third inhibitor is an extract from Tetracentron sinense.

Abstract: We have found that exposure of an aqueous tryptophan solution to window sunlight results in the production of multiple tryptophan photoproducts that have the capability of activating the aryl hydrocarbon receptor and increasing the production of AhR target genes and proteins in hepatocytes. We have isolated three of those photoproducts not previously identified as AhR activators, their chemical identification and synthesis and the demonstration that all three have biologic activities as novel AhR activators. Further, one of the three is a completely novel, not previously described, chemical compound.

Abstract: An integrated system for diving operations for use in turbid water by a remote operator comprising a surface console station that supports the receipt of tethered command and control of system components and display for received real-time video via a communications channel; a remote wearable information processing unit tethered to the surface console station and having integrated controls; a wearable human interface system connected to the remote wearable information processing unit and including a video display and two-way audio system; a viewing enhancing device tethered to the remote wearable information processing unit and the surface console station, including an image capture device; and a fluid clarification unit coupled to the viewing enhanced apparatus. The apparatus may be warn and operated by a diver, mounted on a remotely operated vehicle or manipulated remotely while mounted on the end of a pole and may include an array of viewing enhancing devices.

Abstract: A mobile wireless communications device may include a housing carrying a circuit board and wireless communications circuitry. An antenna assembly is carried by the housing and coupled to the wireless communications circuitry. The antenna assembly may include an electrically conductive base having a rectangular shape with opposing first and second ends and opposing first and second sides extending between the first and second ends. The electrically conductive base may have an elongate slot therein extending within a medial portion thereof and contained within the opposing first and second ends and the opposing first and second sides. The antenna assembly also may include an electrically conductive feed arm extending outwardly from the first side of the electrically conductive base adjacent the first end thereof. The electrically conductive feed arm may have a distal end with an antenna feed defined thereon.

Abstract: Methods for hydrolyzing solid ungranulated lysophosphatidylcholine with phospholipase A2 are provided. Also disclosed are methods for making a lipid matrix of lysophosphatidylcholine, monoglyceride and fatty acid, and lipid matrices of particular structure.

Abstract: A risk management method and system for facilitating analysis and quantification of risk associated with politically exposed persons is disclosed. A computerized political risk management system maintains a database relating individuals to politically sensitive positions and world events. A rating system is used to assess risk based upon criteria such as a position held, historical data and/or interpretation of world events. The system can generate a risk quotient or other rating based upon a weighted algorithm applied to the criteria. The risk quotient is indicative of risk associated with an account. Actions commensurate with a risk quotient can be presented to an institution to help the institution properly manage risk associated with a politically exposed person. A log or other stored history can be created such that utilization of the system can mitigate adverse effects relating to a problematic account.

Abstract: An electronics enclosure is disclosed that provides passive cooling of electronic components while reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions. The electronics enclosure includes an electronics assembly with at least one electronic component and a heat sink coupled to the electronics assembly. The heat sink has a base portion configured to thermally couple to the at least one electronic component when the heat sink is coupled to the electronic assembly. The electronics enclosure also includes a conductive enclosure forming an enclosed volume around the electronics assembly. The enclosure has a first opening configured to fit around the heat sink and at least one second opening. All non-conductive passages from the volume to the external environment have at least one cross-sectional opening having a continuous conductive perimeter with a maximum linear length within the opening of less than one quarter wavelength of a determined maximum shielding frequency.

Abstract: Described herein is a material moving apparatus that includes a chamber into which a compressible material is introduced. The chamber includes an input opening for receiving the material, a discharge opening and a sealing mechanism to prevent flow of air or other gasses between the input opening and the discharge opening. In one embodiment, the material moving apparatus can be used to introduce compressible biomass into a gasification reactor.

Abstract: A hand-held device for providing a dermatological treatment by scanning a laser beam to form a pattern of treatment spots on the skin includes a laser source that generates an input beam, an automated scanning system, and a treatment spot control system. The automated scanning system includes a rotating multi-sector scanning element configured to repeatedly scan the input beam, each scan providing an array of output beams corresponding to the multiple sectors of the scanning element and forming a scanned row of treatment spots on the skin. The scanning element is configured such that each sector provides a constant-angular-direction output beam as that sector rotates through the input beam. The treatment spots of each scanned row are spaced apart from each other by areas of non-irradiated skin. The treatment spot control system provides a distance between adjacent rows of treatment spots in a direction of manual movement of the device.

Abstract: A system and method for facilitating communications between a mobile device and a network application are provided. A mobile device transmits a request for data change information that includes a time out interval. The network application receives the request and measures a time elapsed since the receipt of the data change request. The network application will only transmit a notification to the mobile device client if new data is received or the time out interval has elapsed. As notifications are received, the mobile client device tunes the time out interval based upon network and device parameters.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a carrier composition comprising a phosphate compound of an electron transfer agent and a polar aprotic solvent. Biologically active compounds formulated with the carrier composition have been shown to have improved properties.

Abstract: A drive mechanism includes a transmission including a pinion centered at an axis, a differential mechanism centered at a second axis forward of the axis, driveably connected to the pinion through a gear wheel meshing with the pinion, and a power take-off mechanism centered at a third axis rearward of the axis, driveably connected to the pinion, including a clutch that alternately opens and closes a drive connection to the pinion.

Abstract: Disclosed are drug delivery compositions comprising an oligonucleotide-modified nanoparticle and a therapeutic agent. Specifically, disclosed are compositions comprising a number of oligonucleotide molecules in a ratio to therapeutic agent molecules to allow a sufficient transportation of the therapeutic agent molecules into a cell. The therapeutic agents include both hydrophobic and hydrophilic. Different attachments of therapeutic agents in a composition are also described.
