  • Publication number: 20060084764
Abstract: Polypropylene having high maleic anhydride content, between about 5 and about 45 g wt %, may be prepared by first reacting a metallocene-prepared polypropylene having terminal unsaturation with one mole equivalent of maleic anhydride to give polypropylene having a single unsaturation and a terminal succinic anhydride moiety. This product is then reacted with additional maleic anhydride in the presence of a free radical initiator (such as a peroxide or UV radiation) to give a polypropylene with maleic anhydride moieties along the backbone. The polypropylene product does not suffer scission or crosslinking with subsequently undesirable increases in molecular weight or viscosity. The maleic anhydride moieties provide reactivity to the polypropylene and thus expand its uses and applications.

  • Publication number: 20050130054
Abstract: Disclosed are wax based inks for phase change/hot melt inkjet printing or thermal transfer printing applications. Also disclosed are waxes useful for toners for use in electrostatographic printing applications. Both materials are prepared using a wax having a narrow melting range. The narrow melting range of the wax reduces energy requirements in printing applications. The use of the waxes also promotes release for high speed printing and especially promotes fast drying in wax based ink applications.

  • Patent number: 6264119
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating a small, maneuverable stream of filtered fluid without benefit of a pump or electrical power are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a spray nozzle apparatus for dispensing a maneuverable stream of fluid, that originates from a fluid source at a first pressure includes an adapter assembly, a nozzle subassembly, and a flexible tubing. The adapter assembly is mechanically coupled to the fluid source, and is arranged to allow the fluid to flow from the fluid source through the adapter assembly. The nozzle subassembly dispenses the fluid at a second pressure, and includes a fluid intake end and a fluid dispensing end. The fluid dispensing end allows the fluid to flow therethrough in a small, stream-like configuration at the second pressure, and is in fluid communication with the adapter assembly. The flexible tubing allows the fluid to flow through, and is coupled to the fluid intake end of the nozzle subassembly.
