  • Patent number: 8107932
Abstract: Mid-call services may be added to a communication session such as a telephone call (call session) by a wireless device on a mobile telephone network by causing the wireless device associated with the communication session to invoke a second call session directed to a vertical service code. The second call session is established on the wireless communication network and terminated on the PSTN to an application server associated with the vertical service code. The application server on the PSTN instantiates the service and matches the service associated with the vertical service code on the second call session with the first call session. The application server then applies the mid-call service associated with the vertical service code to the first call session to thus enable mid-call services to be applied to the first call session by the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 7325353
Abstract: The multiple nomograph system for solving ranging and ballistic problems in firearms includes a series of graphs or nomographs for the determination of a series of factors affecting the ballistic trajectory of a bullet in flight. The nomographs may be placed upon the reticle of a firearm scope, or provided on media external to the scope, as desired. The scope reticle includes at least one aiming point or aim point field to compensate for elevation and windage, with the vertical axis preferably being offset to compensate for precession at longer ranges. Stadia for determining angular target dimension(s) are included on the reticle, with a nomograph for determining apparent distance from the apparent dimensions being provided either on the reticle or external to the scope. Additional nomographs are provided for the determination and compensation of non-level slopes, non-standard density altitudes, and wind correction, either on the reticle or external thereto.

  • Publication number: 20070041508
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention provide an improved system and method for detecting an alignment error in an imaging system. The method includes projecting a calibration pattern from a source onto a detector to generate calibration image data, and analyzing the calibration image data to determine a positional shift in the detector with respect to the source. The calibration pattern is generated by the imaging system using a calibration pattern generator, such as collimator or pattern insert, and the calibration pattern provides information regarding a position of the detector with respect to the source. An error may be reported if the calibration image data does not match the reference image data. An offset may be extracted based on a difference between the calibration image data and the reference image data to correct the positional shift. The offset may be automatically applied to imaging calculations from the imaging system.
