Abstract: The system and method for a buyer driven transaction includes a Web site where buyers can post ads for goods or services that the buyer wishes to purchase and specify a price the buyer is willing to pay for the goods or services. Sellers can browse the posted buyer ads and tender offers, and the system also includes a database in which sellers can post an inventory of goods or services and a price at which the sellers are willing to sell. When a buyer posts an ad, a search engine searches the database to match a seller with the buyer, and matches are displayed to the buyer so that the buyer can make an offer to the seller. Alternatively, a buyer can browse the seller database and make an offer for merchandise listed in the database.
