  • Patent number: 8768349
Abstract: A method, system, and medium are provided for consolidating subscriber information from one or more data stored located within a mobile telecommunications network. The subscriber information may include, for example, a subscriber's service attributes or identifying information. As each data store may use a different protocol to communicate with the network, the system has the capability to identify the protocol used by each data store to allow for communication between each data store and the network. In addition, as each data store may store the subscriber information in a different format, the system identifies the schema used by each data store so that the subscriber information may be consolidated into a single schema to generate a unified subscriber profile, thus providing for efficient and effective customer service by a service provider.

  • Patent number: 8400491
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable media are provided for adjusting one or more video parameters of a video communication session based on a type of use for the video communication session. At least one method includes detecting a use for a certain video communication session and applying a profile of video parameters to the session based on the use. The method further includes detecting a network constraint and adjusting one or more of the video parameters based on the network constraint.

  • Patent number: 8184530
Abstract: Quality of Service (QoS) is provided to a secure data tunnel such an IPsec tunnel using information about the tunnel and the underlying data session to formulate a set of bandwidth requirements. A policy server operates to receive the information to create the set of bandwidth requirements which are enforced by a termination device. The termination device sets the bandwidths. QoS can be provided on a static or continuous basis. QoS can be provided on a dynamic basis. QoS can be provided at different levels depending on the type of data session. Multiple QoS can be provided for multiple data sessions existing simultaneously using multiple SSIDs.

  • Patent number: 8060624
Abstract: A presence enabled media host device is provided for accessing presence information associated with a number of communication endpoints and requesting the initiation of a communication session with at least one of the communication endpoints. The presence enabled media host device may access presence information, which includes information relating to the availability of a number of first communication endpoints. The presence enabled media host device may also receive a command requesting establishment of a communication session between at least one of the first communication endpoints and one or more second communication endpoints. The presence enabled media host device may then communicate a request for the communication session to a proxy server.

  • Patent number: 7995756
Abstract: Mobile device playback and control of media content stored on a personal media host device is provided. The mobile device may communicate a request for media content to a network server, which may determine whether the mobile device is authorized to access the requested media content. If it is determined that the mobile device is authorized, the network server may access the media content from the host device. The network server may then initiate a media session with the mobile device, wherein the media content is streamed to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 7796980
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling a media host device from a mobile voice device. In accordance with a method of the present invention, a call is received from the mobile voice device. A portion of an electronic programming guide is obtained and verbally provided to the mobile voice device in response to the call. A verbal selection associated with the electronic programming guide is received from the mobile voice device and communicated to the media host device through a command encompassing the verbal selection.
