  • Publication number: 20240049632
Abstract: A lateral offset mower implement may include a mower support frame, a pivot head, a curtain support apparatus, and a curtain. The mower support frame has a first end attached to a work vehicle and a second end spaced from the first end along a central longitudinal axis of the mower support frame. The pivot head is coupled to the mower support frame proximate the second end thereof. The pivot head defines a first curtain axis, and the first curtain axis is vertical during operation. The curtain support apparatus has a primary curtain support member attached to the pivot head and extending away from the pivot head to a distal end. The curtain is supported by the curtain support apparatus. The primary curtain support member is pivotably attached to the pivot head for relative rotation between the primary curtain support member and the pivot head about the first curtain axis.

  • Patent number: 11606908
Abstract: A knotter drive apparatus for a baler includes a knotter gear drive shaft having a drive shaft axis and a shaft outside diameter. A plurality of knotter assemblies are mounted on the knotter gear drive shaft. Each assembly includes a first knotter gear sector including a first sector hub portion and a first sector radial portion. The first sector hub portion includes a central passage at least partly defined in the first sector hub portion for receiving the knotter gear drive shaft. The first sector radial portion extends radially outward from the first sector hub portion relative to the drive shaft axis, and has defined thereon a plurality of intermittent gear tooth segments. The first sector hub portion has a circumferential gap defined therein greater than the shaft outside diameter such that the first knotter gear sector is removable radially, relative to the drive shaft axis, from the knotter gear drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 11587218
Abstract: A bale monitoring system includes an imaging device that is operable to capture a stereoscopic image of a bale. A computing compares the stereoscopic image of the bale to a three-dimensional standard to identify a deviation of the bale from the three-dimensional standard. The computing device may then assign the bale a shape quality score based on the deviation of the bale from the three-dimensional standard. The shape quality score may indicate a magnitude of the deviation of the bale from the three-dimensional standard. Additionally, the stereoscopic image may be analyzed to identify characteristics of the bale, such as a broken wrap material or an improperly formed bale.

  • Patent number: 11518434
Abstract: A vehicle includes a rear steering system and a front differential hydraulic drive system. A first front drive control valve is operable to output a defined fluid flow in response to a steering command input. A second front drive control valve is operable to selectively divert a portion of the defined fluid flow output from the first front drive control valve. When the vehicle is operating in a pre-defined condition, a steering controller may control the second front drive control valve to divert a portion of the defined fluid flow from the first front drive control valve to define a reduced fluid flow, which is communicated to the front differential hydraulic drive system, to reduce a steering ratio of the front differential hydraulic drive system relative to the rear steering system, to desensitize steering provided by the front differential hydraulic drive system.

  • Patent number: 11375663
Abstract: A ground contour sensing system and method for a vehicle with a mowing head. The system includes a sensor system that measures a ground contour in front of the mowing head, and generates contour measurement signals; and a controller that determines whether to move the mowing head based on the contour measurement signals, and generates movement commands for the mowing head when it determines to move the mowing head. The mowing head can include tilt and lift cylinders, and the controller can determine whether to move the mowing head using the tilt or lift cylinders. The sensor system can include a pivot arm that moves in response to changes in the ground contour, and an angle sensor that measures an angle of the pivot arm. There can be one or more sensor systems positioned between the right and left sides of the mowing head.
