  • Patent number: 12385270
Abstract: A connected heating system is provided. The system includes a heater having a first inflow port and a first outflow port, a controller that monitors one or more conditions relating to the heater, and a heater bypass coupled between the first inflow port and the first outflow port. The system also includes a valve that controls flow of water received from a pool into the first inflow port and the heater bypass based on operating state identified by the controller. In operation, responsive to the controller identifying the operating state, the controller is configured to transmit control signals that direct actuation of the valve to achieve the operating state. Additionally, the heater is configured to heat portions of the water from the pool that flow between the first inflow port and the first outflow port when a heating mode is active.

  • Publication number: 20250164114
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a variable speed blower of a gas-fired heater associated with a swimming pool or spa are provided. A gas heater may include an air-fuel mixture chamber and a circuit. The circuit may be configured to receive a signal to initiate heating water and output a first control signal that operates a variable speed blower associated with the gas heater at a first rate of speed for a first time duration during ignition of the gas heater. The variable speed blower draws air into the air-fuel mixture chamber where the air is combined with gas fuel to ignite the air and the gas fuel to heat the water. The circuit may also be configured to output a second control signal that operates the variable speed blower at a second rate of speed after the first time duration has expired and after the gas heater is ignited.

  • Patent number: 12181074
Abstract: A ball valve for use in a hydraulic supply system is described. The ball valve includes a valve body defining a fluid passage including an inlet and an outlet, a ball having an opening therethough and having an open position and a closed position within the fluid passage and a normal operating range between the open position and the closed position, a manual valve operation mechanism, an input shaft connected to the manual valve operation mechanism, and a gearing assembly including an output shaft, the gearing assembly connected to the input shaft and the output shaft connected to the ball. Rotation of the manual valve operation mechanism causes rotation of the ball along a full operating range within the valve body and the gearing assembly includes a feedback mechanism that is actuated after the ball has rotated outside of the normal operating range.

  • Publication number: 20240209648
Abstract: A system and a method for performing an automated winterization process for a swimming pool or spa are provided. A temperature sensor collects a sensed temperature value, which is transmitted and processed by a control system of a connected aquatic system. Based on the sensed temperature value, the swimming pool or spa control system executes the automated winterization process for the swimming pool or spa. The automated winterization process includes displacing water with air using an air-moving device in a first loop path and a second loop path using one or more actuated automatic valves.

  • Patent number: 11583209
Abstract: The system and method disclosed utilizes a wearable device to collect data generated pursuant to user's kinesthetic movement. The instant innovation filters and cleans the data, then slices the data into subsets. The subsets are analyzed with a Machine Learning algorithm to identify signal patterns indicative of statistically significant behavioral metrics, and the instant innovation returns insights based in part on relationships between said behavioral metrics. These insights are returned to an observer in the form of a report.

  • Patent number: 11541800
Abstract: A rotatable tailgate assembly is provided for installation on a dump bed. The tailgate assembly has support members attachable to the side of the dump bed. Each support member has at least one bearing adjacent at a free end extending rearwardly of the dump bed's rear opening. A tailgate has a cylindrical tailgate shaft with a first end rotatably received within the bearing of a first support member and a second end rotatably received within a bearing of a second support member. The tailgate has a closure portion extending radially away from the tailgate shaft. The closure portion engages the rear edges of the dump bed floor and sides to close off the dump bed opening when the tailgate assembly is in a closed rotational position. The tailgate assembly also comprises a rotation actuator operatively connected to the tailgate shaft for selective rotation thereof.

  • Patent number: 11047360
Abstract: An apparatus for energy extraction from fluid flow including an assembly including a plenum. The assembly further includes an aperture extending from an exterior surface to the plenum to allow flow therethrough. The apparatus further includes a channel including an inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with the plenum. The apparatus yet further includes an energy extraction device. The assembly is configured to create a pressure differential between the plenum and the inlet of the channel. The pressure differential causes fluid flow from the inlet of the channel to the plenum. The energy extraction device is configured to extract energy from the fluid flow. The apparatus additionally includes a control system configured to modify the pressure differential to control the fluid flow between the inlet of the channel and the plenum based on a characteristic of an exterior environment.
