  • Patent number: 11133745
Abstract: The present embodiments allow multiphase buck controllers to be able to detect Power-on-Reset (POR) automatically and subsequently reboot the system and reconfigure the system as a single or multi-rail system. Some embodiments use an onboard bus that can communicate between controllers. In these and other embodiments, the system is able to recover automatically from a power failure afflicting any or all of the controllers. Embodiments are applicable to flexible plug-and-play modular digital buck regulation applications.

  • Patent number: 11047360
Abstract: An apparatus for energy extraction from fluid flow including an assembly including a plenum. The assembly further includes an aperture extending from an exterior surface to the plenum to allow flow therethrough. The apparatus further includes a channel including an inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with the plenum. The apparatus yet further includes an energy extraction device. The assembly is configured to create a pressure differential between the plenum and the inlet of the channel. The pressure differential causes fluid flow from the inlet of the channel to the plenum. The energy extraction device is configured to extract energy from the fluid flow. The apparatus additionally includes a control system configured to modify the pressure differential to control the fluid flow between the inlet of the channel and the plenum based on a characteristic of an exterior environment.

  • Patent number: 10002339
Abstract: A disaster assessment system is presented. The disaster assessment system generates one or more impact reports detailing the nature of how a disaster has impacted a building site based on sensor data associated with the building site that is collected after the disaster. According to one aspect of the inventive subject matter, the disaster assessment system includes a sensor platform, a pre-disaster database, a historic disaster database, and an impact assessment engine. The sensor platform obtains sensor data reflecting a building site before, during, and/or after an event. The impact assessment engine derives a pre-event 3D model based on sensor data collected by the sensor platform before the event, and derives a post-event 3D model based on sensor data collected by the sensor platform after the event. The impact assessment engine then generates the impact reports based on a difference between the pre-event 3D model and the post-event 3D model.

  • Patent number: 9449113
Abstract: Browser storage management techniques are described. In one or more implementations, inputs are received at a computing device that specify maximum aggregate sizes of application and database caches, respectively, of browser storage to be used to locally store data at the computing device. For example, the inputs may be provided using a policy, by an administrator of the computing device, and so on. The maximum aggregate sizes are set of application and database caches, respectively, of browser storage at the computing device to the sizes specified by the inputs.

  • Publication number: 20150167266
Abstract: Devices and methods for deploying a continuous liquid containment tool is described. The barrier is made up of multiple units that can be connected together. Each unit comprises a long sleeve that contains superabsorbent polymers. When dry, the units are very compact and can lay flat, making it easily storable either in stacks or wound up on a reel. The liquid containment tool is used to prevent water from moving into certain areas by creating a barrier through which water cannot pass. The liquid containment tool can be deployed quickly, continuously, and easily by a single person.

  • Publication number: 20130219383
Abstract: Various embodiments enable installable applications that are to be used on a local client machine to utilize an application cache manifest file that resides remotely, on the web, to define various resources that are to be updated and available offline after the installable application has been deployed on the local client machine Whenever the content of the manifest file is updated on the web, the installed application automatically updates its local application cache resources and allows the installed application to use those resources offline. This is done without having to install a new update of the application or burden the user with having to navigate to a location to obtain the updated content.

  • Patent number: 8074184
Abstract: Systems and methods enhance editing capabilities associated with a wide variety of different types of electronic documents. Such systems and methods may include a processor that maintains an electronic document having a first portion (e.g., an individual word, character, character string, or the like) provided by a recognizer (e.g., by handwriting or speech recognition software), and they may provide access to potential alternative characters, words, or character strings generated by the recognizer during various user editing functions and operations. Other data associated with the first portion of the document also may be stored and made available to the user during various functions and operations. This invention further relates to computer-readable media including instructions for performing various methods and/or operating various systems for editing electronic documents, including systems and methods like those described above.

  • Patent number: 7427954
Abstract: A direction finding system is used in which a number of adjacent bands are sequentially measured in fast rotation, with the results from each of the bands being FFT processed to provide amplitude and phase information on all of the signals existing within the band. Upon ascertaining that one wishes to do a direction finding process, one merely accesses the information in the delay memory so that direction finding resources are only allocated to signals of interest and such that one does not have to re-do an FFT upon finding a signal of interest.
