    Abstract: A coil/capacitor combination useable as an induction furnace includes a reactive capacitor bank directly bolted to the coil and protected from coil fields by shields and heat sink plates. The coil includes a selectively openable switch for placing the coil assembly on and off of a moving strip. The switch is operated by deflecting coil turns within the natural resiliency of the turns themselves.
