  • Patent number: 12130740
Abstract: Embodiments of an invention a processor architecture are disclosed. In an embodiment, a processor includes a decoder, an execution unit, a coherent cache, and an interconnect. The decoder is to decode an instruction to zero a cache line. The execution unit is to issue a write command to initiate a cache line sized write of zeros. The coherent cache is to receive the write command, to determine whether there is a hit in the coherent cache and whether a cache coherency protocol state of the hit cache line is a modified state or an exclusive state, to configure a cache line to indicate all zeros, and to issue the write command toward the interconnect. The interconnect is to, responsive to receipt of the write command, issue a snoop to each of a plurality of other coherent caches for which it must be determined if there is a hit.

  • Publication number: 20240347930
Abstract: Register banks are used to allow for fast beam switching in a phased array system. Each beam forming channel is associated with a register bank containing M register sets for configuring such things as gain/amplitude and phase parameters of the beam forming channel. The register banks for all beam forming channels can be pre-programmed and then fast beam switching circuitry allows all beam forming channels across the array to be switched to use the same register set from its corresponding register bank at substantially the same time, thereby allowing the phased array system to be quickly switched between various beam patterns and orientations. Active power control circuitry may be used to control the amount of electrical power provided to or consumed by one or more individual beam forming channels such as to reduce DC power consumption of the array and/or to selectively change the effective directivity of the array.

  • Publication number: 20240310561
Abstract: An exemplary method and system are disclosed comprising retroreflective metastructures formed with a plurality of metasurface arrays configured to destructively cancel or interfere, in part, with one another to reduce specular mode associated scattering or reflection. In some embodiments, the retroreflective metastructures are formed by a combination of metasurfaces with different lattice spacings that can exhibit enhanced bandwidth and angular range at near-grazing angles to provide enhanced retroreflective electromagnetic responses.

  • Publication number: 20140012604
Abstract: In some implementations, a self-selected insurance pool can be created. A group organizer and/or member of the insurance pool can invite friends, relatives and/or other contacts to join the self-selected insurance pool. Invitations can be sent using electronic mechanisms, including email, instant messaging, text messaging, etc. Invitees can be identified and selected from a member's address book or from contacts on a social media website. In some implementations, once the insurance pool has been created, members of the pool can monitor the activities of members of the group and receive notifications of events generated by other members. Members of the pool can view their own statistics as compared to other members of the group. Members can initiate a review of another member to determine if the member has been abusing or excessively using the insurance of the pool and initiate proceedings to remove the abusing member from the pool.

  • Patent number: 8315797
Abstract: A navigation system provides sensors and a user interface mounted in a single unit while allowing individual users to make adjustments to the user interface without affecting the functionality of the device. This is accomplished by mounting the orientation sensitive sensors (e.g. accelerometers, gyros, etc) rigidly to a mounting bracket rigidly mounted to the vehicle (such as to the dashboard). The sensors are mounted within a ball rigidly mounted to the bracket and the ball is secured within a rotatable socket on the user interface enclosure. In this manner, the user interface enclosure can rotate on the ball, but the orientation of the sensors relative to the vehicle will remain the same.
