Publication number: 20100124479Abstract: A lift assembly adapted for use with a vehicle having a substantially horizontal cargo floor and a trailer hitch receiver, the lift assembly including a tongue member having a longitudinal axis and adapted for slidable insertion along the longitudinal axis into the receiver. A frame is attached to the tongue member and includes a pair of four-bar linkages, each of which includes rigid linkage members pivotably attached along substantially parallel pivot axes. Connected to the frame is a platform having a substantially planar load surface that defines a front edge and is substantially horizontally positioned. A first linkage member and the platform are moved together when the tongue member is in the receiver between a lowered state and an elevated state in which the horizontally positioned load surface is generally parallel with the cargo area floor and the load surface front edge is proximate to the cargo area floor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2009Publication date: May 20, 2010Applicant: D.M. Patent number: 6767047Abstract: A convertible roof latch operable to retain a convertible roof apparatus in a retracted position. The convertible roof latch is lockingly engaged and disengaged in response to actuation of a tonneau cover. The convertible roof latch is positionable in an unlocked position where a top stack mechanism is free to move relative to the locking mechanism and a locked position where the top stack mechanism is coupled with the locking mechanism when the tonneau cover is in the closed position to prevent relative movement of the top stack mechanism and the locking mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2003Date of Patent: July 27, 2004Assignee: ASC IncorporatedInventors: Stefan Eichhorst, Gary J. Forgue, David W. Brooks

Publication number: 20030227236Abstract: A modular safety station that comprises a cabinet having a front and having generally enclosed top, bottom, rear and side surfaces and a generally open interior capable of receiving and storing a plurality of safety, emergency and medical devices and equipment. The safety station includes at least one display panel secured to the cabinet. The display panel is moveable from a first position where it is held adjacent to at least one of the top, bottom, rear, side or front surfaces of the cabinet, to a second position where it is extended from the cabinet. The display panel has a front surface that accommodates the posting and exhibition of written materials, printed items and other safety, emergency or regulated devices, equipment and materials.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2002Publication date: December 11, 2003Inventor: David W. Patent number: 6644665Abstract: The present invention is directed to a spacial logical toy having a total of twenty-six toy elements mounted on a spherical internal connecting element. The toy elements are assembled to a spacial body having an octagon cross section on any of the three mutually perpendicular axes. The surfaces of the twenty-six toy elements that make up the geometric solid are provided with one of three colors and are sequentially numbered (1-26) or lettered (A-Z) to provide each surface with a unique designation. The twenty-six toy elements are mixed by rotation of any adjacent nine elements relative to the remainder of the geometric solid. The objective or solution is to return the toy elements to an original sequential orientation.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2001Date of Patent: November 11, 2003Inventor: David W. Brooks

Patent number: 5433138Abstract: The present invention provides a tamper-resistant fluid-operated brake actuator having a power spring housed within a head or cap which is attached to a flange case having one or more diaphragms or pistons responsive to changes of fluid pressure within the brake actuator chambers. In one embodiment, the head is attached to the flange case by a substantially continuous curvilinear annular metal retaining member which must be inelastically deformed or destroyed in order to remove the head from the flange case, thus rendering tampering more difficult. In another embodiment, the annular metal retaining member of the present invention is integral with the actuator head and which is metal-spun or the like onto the flange case.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1994Date of Patent: July 18, 1995Assignee: Indian Head Industries, Inc.Inventors: Graydon J. Choinski, Allen L. Gummer, David W. Brooks
