    Abstract: A quality control system in combination with an ECG data analysis system to analyze ECG data acquired by an ambulatory electrocardiography device via a cable having a plurality of leads connected to a subject is provided. The quality control system includes a memory having programmable instructions for execution by a processor to perform the steps of calculating a trend of a quality score in the ECG data dependent on a noise content in the ECG data; and calculating a probability that one of a hardware and the Hookup personal, each associated with collecting the ECG data from the subject, is a substantial cause of the quality score for the ECG data. The probability can be calculated based on a comparison the trend of the quality score associated with the Hookup personnel versus the trend of the quality score of the hardware employed in acquiring the ECG data.

    Abstract: A system and method for the optimization of scheduling visits by a clinician to a plurality of remotely located patients. A plurality of predefined or clinician specified risk factors are combined with patient data with a home visit interval algorithm to specify a visit interval for each patient. This interval is used with a calendar with other information regarding past and future scheduled visits to determine the optimal date for the next visit to the patient by the clinician. The patient risk factors may be weighted to place more emphasis on specific factors, thus allowing for the tailoring of the system to meet the needs of an individual patient.

    Abstract: A data acquisition system can include an acquisition device and a receiving device. The acquisition device includes inputs that receive data from sensors connected to a subject, a wireless and/or a wired transmitter that transmits data received by the inputs, and a housing carrying at least some of the components of the acquisition device. The housing may be wearable by a patient. The acquisition device may be switchable between a tethered data transmission mode and an untethered data transmission mode. The receiving device includes a receiver that receives data transmitted by the acquisition device, and may include an output that outputs data to a host. The system may be configured to transmit data from the data acquisition device to the local monitor point-to-point. The system is particularly useful for monitoring high acuity patients that may or may not require ambulation.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for evaluating the connection between the patient monitor and the patient. The apparatus is a compliance monitoring circuit that generates a constant current output to the isolation transformer of a patient monitoring device. Changes in the impedance of the patient connection cause changes in the output voltage of the constant current generator. This voltage can be measured and compared against a reference to generate a visible or audible compliance alarm.
