  • Publication number: 20190216493
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a body assembly, a shaft, an acoustic waveguide, an articulation section, an end effector, and an articulation drive assembly. The shaft extends distally from the body assembly and defines a longitudinal axis. The acoustic waveguide comprises a flexible portion. The articulation section is coupled with the shaft. A portion of the articulation section encompasses the flexible portion of the waveguide. The articulation section comprises a plurality of body portions aligned along the longitudinal axis and a flexible locking member. The flexible locking member is operable to secure the body portions in relation to each other and in relation to the shaft. The end effector comprises an ultrasonic blade in acoustic communication with the waveguide. The articulation drive assembly is operable to drive articulation of the articulation section to thereby deflect the end effector from the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 10305492
Abstract: The frequency of a clock signal is compared to a predetermined range. If the measured frequency is outside the range, a system controller determines if a current operating state of the overall system allows for the internal clock to be adjusted back into compliance. If the controller determines that the current system state allows for the change, then a control signal to the internal clock signal source is changed by the smallest increment available, either to increase or decrease the frequency. If the internal clock signal is out of the desired range, and the system controller does not decide to modify the frequency, the controller may increase the size of the range by decreasing the lower bound and/or increasing the upper bound.

  • Patent number: 10291417
Abstract: A method and system for providing distributed network access point installation and management. A network provider installs and/or operates a plurality of access points at locations of a retail entity. Each access point may provide services such as Internet access, and/or content such as audio, video, text, and/or graphics, among other types of services. A carrier, such as a telephone or cable company, may compensate the network service provider for installation and operation of the access points. The carrier may in turn charge its subscribers for network access at the retail entity locations. A plurality of different carriers may provide compensation and allow respective subscriber access. The network access points may be configured to allow each carrier to present a point of presence to its subscribers at the retail entity locations. The installed network may also provide service for retail entity back office functions.
