  • Patent number: 4533558
Abstract: A toast guard made of a heat absorbent ceramic piece molded in the shape of a slice of bread, but slightly smaller in size and thickness than a slice of bread. The ceramic piece is used in the toasting process of an ordinary multi-slotted household toaster when some of the slots of the toaster are filled with slices of bread and some of the slots are vacant. The ceramic piece enables the toast to be darkened to the same degree on both sides and prevents the excessive darkening or burning of the side of the toast adjacent to a vacant slot in the toaster.

  • Patent number: 4306158
Abstract: An automatic headlight extinguishing switch apparatus especially adapted to interfit with an existing automobile light switch member which comprises a switch means and a wiring harness. The headlight extinguishing switch apparatus comprises an adapter apparatus which interfits between the switch means and the wiring harness, and a normally open pressure sensitive switch device which is operatively connected to the adapter apparatus. The pressure sensitive switch device is adapted to be connected to an automobile vacuum line or an automobile pressurized oil line, such that the switch will be closed when the engine is turned on and will open when the engine is turned off. A manually operable override switch member is provided which bypasses the pressure sensitive switch device and permits the automobile lights to be operated when the engine is turned off.

  • Patent number: 3998385
Abstract: A litter removal or evacuation apparatus for installation in a vehicle such as an automobile, truck, pleasure water craft, etc. There is a main litter removal system for larger articles such as bottles, napkins, etc; and an ash tray removal system to evacuate cigarette butts, cigar butts, etc., from the vehicle ash tray. In each of these two systems, there is a litter receptacle to receive the litter, a removal tube leading from the vehicle passenger compartment to the receptacle, and a suction tube leading from its related receptacle to the intake housing of the conventional heating and ventilating system of the vehicle. A suction adequate to draw litter through the removal tubes into the litter receptacles is created through the blower system of the vehicle heating and ventilating system, by simultaneously closing off the intake vent through which ambient air is normally drawn into the heating and ventilating system, and also operating the blower.
