    Abstract: An ornamental attachment for mounting on lacing-type footwear has a support member extends under at least a portion of the lace longitudinally along the lacing opening of the article of footwear and face member having a display surface thereon extends over at least a portion of the lace. The ends of the support member are secured to the face member to provide a transverse passage through which the lace crosses. Various types of ornamental attachment members can be utilized including decorative embroidered patches and removable decals.
