    Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for routing an incoming electronic message from a sender to a recipient where an electronic message address of the recipient fails to match a naming convention applicable to the recipient. The system and method, in an exemplary embodiment, includes (1) receiving a recipient name of the electronic message address of the recipient, (2) creating one or more logical combinations of the recipient name according to one or more naming conventions, (3) comparing each of the one or more logical combinations of the recipient name with each name in a name list, and (4) handling the electronic message for delivery to the recipient if there are one or more matches between the one or more logical combinations of the recipient name and each name in the name list.
