  • Patent number: 11926167
Abstract: The invention comprises a method and apparatus for producing a handwritten appearance of input text on a marking surface, comprising the steps of: backing the marking surface with a conveyor belt of a plotter system; machine plotting the input text on the marking surface with a plotting pen having a downward force of one-half to forty ounces; feeding a new sheet to the conveyor belt from a paper feeder system, the step of feeding under control of a paper position detection system; loading a current marking surface into the plotter system; and repeating the steps of loading and emulating n times as designated by a print job, where the step of emulating changes applied vectors to the current marking surface for sub-tasks within the print job and optionally to us graphic codes on the marking surface to control work flow.

  • Publication number: 20240075185
Abstract: Provided are compositions and methods of making a hydrogel-forming composition comprising decellularized porcine nucleus pulposus tissue that is solubilized and supplemented with collagen, then neutralized and thermally gelled in the presence of genipin. The hydrogel-forming composition may be injected into a joint or surrounding tissue of a subject having pain or inflammation. The pain or inflammation may be caused by degeneration of the intervertebral disc (IVD), wherein administration of the hydrogel-forming composition into the IVD may restore the lost disc volume and alleviate the pain and inflammation.

  • Publication number: 20230302844
Abstract: The invention comprises a method and apparatus for controlling a marking surface, comprising: a backplate positioned to support the marking surface and a lever arm, the lever arm and the backplate forming a continuous single object, wherein bending the lever arm yields a force transferred through the backplate toward the marking surface, where, optionally and preferably the backplate is at least twice as thick as the lever arm, the lever arm has a flexural modulus in a range of one to ten GPa, and the backplate and lever arm form an angle between thirty and sixty degrees with no applied force. Optionally, the backplate supports a paper of a plotter system.

  • Publication number: 20220266614
Abstract: The invention comprises a method for a machine producing a handwritten appearance of input text on a marking surface, comprising the steps of: emulating handwriting on the marking surface with a plotter system to yield a marked paper and marking a first machine readable graphic code on the marking surface prior to removal of the paper from the plotter system, the first machine readable graphic code uniquely identifying the marked paper, with an optional process of reading a second machine readable graphic code on the marking surface prior to the step of emulating; receiving a print job related to the second machine readable graphic code; identifying a particular media type of the markable surface with the first machine readable graphic code; scanning, with the plotter system, the printable media code; and confirming, prior to the step of emulating, the printable media requirement matches the particular media type.

  • Publication number: 20150371307
Abstract: A system and method for generating simulated handwritten correspondence. The system allows the user to select a desired stationery from a plurality of available stationery; upload a custom photograph to be used in connection with the desired stationery (i.e., creating a photo postcard), if desired; select a handwriting style from a plurality of available handwriting styles which includes cursive and block styles, and varying or different pen types; enter the desired text or message to be written in the selected handwriting style on the desired stationery, and then process payment. At that point, the system proceeds to write the desired text or message into the selected handwriting style with the appropriate strokes and ligatures for translation onto the desired stationery paper using a writing machine.
