  • Patent number: 7296108
Abstract: An apparatus and method to transmit unaligned data over an interface bus while providing the appearance of aligned data transfers to the receiving processor. In a preferred embodiment, an alignment mechanism is provided in the bus interface of the receiving processor to align the data transfers transparent to the receiving processor. The alignment mechanism detects an unaligned transfer in the bus command queue and forms multiple commands of aligned data to send to the processor.

  • Publication number: 20060227843
Abstract: An apparatus and method for gas/liquid separation on an array of jets or streams of liquid is provided. Layers of substantially spherical aggregates of meshed material are provided to “quiet” high-velocity liquid flow with entrained gas to provide a uniform flow at moderate or low velocity from which the gas has been substantially separated from the liquid.

  • Publication number: 20060219097
Abstract: An apparatus and method for gas/liquid separation on an array of jets or streams of liquid is provided. Layers of structured packing material are configured to “quiet” high-velocity liquid flow with entrained gas to provide a flow at moderate or low velocity from which the gas has been substantially separated from the liquid.

  • Publication number: 20060083924
Abstract: This invention describes a process for producing a nanoscale zero-valent metal, including reduction of a metal ion solution with a dithionite compound, wherein the reduction is carried out under alkaline conditions under substantially an inert atmosphere. A nanoscale zero-valent metal obtainable by this process, and having a new crystalline form, is also described. The nanoscale zero-valent metal produced by the process of the invention is preferably iron, and is advantageously used for the remediation of contaminated water.

  • Publication number: 20030121114
Abstract: A computer screen dusting cloth affixable to a computer monitor case having a reel capable of winding a tether thereon. The tether is attached at a distal end to a monitor wiping cloth. The reel has a wound position with the tether wound upon it and an extended position when it is unwound from the tether. The reel is continuously biased toward the wound position but is locked to the extended position once the user pulls the attached cloth and extends the tether. This allows uninhibited use of the cloth on the monitor. A lock release in the form of a button communicating through the reel housing allows the user to wind up the tether automatically after use by a simple press of the button and storing the cloth attached to the monitor by the tether and real holding tether.

  • Patent number: 4362869
Abstract: 4,1',6'-trichloro-4,1',6'-trideoxygalactosucrose is prepared by a process including the steps of:(a) isomerizing 2,3,4,3',4'-penta-O-acetyl sucrose to 2,3,6,3',4'-penta-O-acetyl sucrose;(b) chlorinating the isomerized acetate at the 4,1' and 6'-positions; and(c) deacetylating the resulting chlorinated product; the isomerization step (a) being effected by treating a solution of 2,3,4,3',4'-penta-O-acetyl sucrose in an inert solvent with a weak acid at an elevated temperature.

  • Patent number: 4343934
Abstract: Crystalline 4,1',6'-trichloro-4,1',6'-trideoxy-galactosucrose exists as the orthorhombic anhydrous form and as the pentahydrate, both of which are more stable than amorphous TGS. Crystals are obtained from seeded aqueous solutions, above 38.degree. C. for the anhydrate; below 38.degree. C. for the pentahydrate.
