Patent number: 11984752Abstract: A motor driven actuator device includes an actuator motor; a controller; an input for receiving an external power supply; and a battery pack electrically connected to selectively drive the actuator motor, and electrically connectable to the external power supply for charging. During charging of the battery pack, the controller is configured to compare a measured charge level with a pre-determined charge level required to complete at least two battery shutdown events under battery power alone. During subsequent actuator device operation, the controller is configured to: determine if the external power supply is invalid, instruct a battery shutdown event causing the battery to be discharged, with enough charge in the battery to complete at least one further battery shutdown event; and, subsequently detect when the external power supply becomes valid, and resume actuator device operation under the external power supply, while simultaneously recharging the battery pack to at least the pre-determined charge level.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2020Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignee: ROTORK CONTROLS LIMITEDInventors: Jonathan Wiggins, David Ware, Nian You Tan

Patent number: 11742676Abstract: A motor driven industrial actuator device includes an enclosure that houses: a motor, a control module, a drive, a battery pack and associated temperature sensor, and an input that receives an external power supply. The control module receives: the status of the external power supply, the charge state of the battery pack, the status of the battery pack, or the charge state and status of the battery pack. The control module causes the battery pack to be charged when an external power supply is present and the battery pack requires charging. During charging of the battery pack, the control module: receives the temperature associated with the battery pack from the temperature sensor; compares the measured temperature with a predetermined threshold temperature; and reduces the current to the battery pack if the measured temperature is greater than the predetermined threshold temperature.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2018Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Inventors: Nian You Tan, Jonathan Wiggins, David Ware

Patent number: 11270345Abstract: Embodiments target users based on energy usage and profile. For example, energy usage data can be received for households monitored using a plurality of meters, where the energy usage data is associated with the households and users. A data set that includes estimated energy usage over geographic areas can be received. The monitored energy usage data and the data set can be combined using a mapping, where the mapping includes location mappings between location information for the households and the geographic areas from the data set. Users with user profiles that meet a targeting criteria can be targeted based on the combined monitored energy usage data and the data set, where the users are targeted based on the location mappings. A messaging campaign that transmits messages to the targeted users can be executed.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2020Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Assignee: ORACLE INTERNATIONAL CORPORATIONInventors: Jessica Lin, Sanem Bengi Kabaca, Matt Frades, David Ware
