Publication number: 20260011489Abstract: A method of reinforcing a superconducting magnet coil is described. The method comprises obtaining a superconducting magnet coil having a plurality of turns of a superconducting material wound on a former having a first longitudinal axis so as to define an external circumferential surface of the coil, winding at least one elongate filament, under a tension of at least 10×106 Pa, around a second longitudinal axis a plurality of times so as to form a band of filament, and disposing the band of filament around the external circumferential surface of the coil such that, when the coil is in use, the band of filament resists radial expansion of the superconducting magnet turns. The at least one elongate filament is formed from a material having an elastic modulus greater than 2.2×1011 Pa, a yield strength greater than 6×108 Pa, and a density less than 4×103 kgm?3. A reinforced magnet coil is also described.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2023Publication date: January 8, 2026Inventors: Steven BALL, Andrew TWIN, Ben BRYANT, David WARREN

Patent number: 11596346Abstract: A technology is described for determining an intended movement from neuromuscular signals. An example method (800) includes receiving electromyography (EMG) data corresponding to single-ended channels of an electrode array (810), where EMG signals are detected by electrodes comprising the single-ended channels of the electrode array and the EMG signals are converted to the EMG data. Determining differential channel pairs for the single-ended channels of the electrode array (820) and extracting feature data from the EMG data of the differential channel pairs (830). Thereafter a feature data set is selected from the feature data of the differential channel pairs (840) and the feature data set is input to a decode model configured to correlate the feature data set to an intended movement (850). Decode output is received from the decode model indicating the intended movement (860) and the decode output is provided to a device (870).Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2017Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: University of Utah Research FoundationInventors: Suzanne Wendelken, Tyler Davis, David Page, David Kluger, David Warren, Gregory Clark, Christopher Duncan, Jacob Nieveen

Publication number: 20210356149Abstract: A clean air system comprises an inlet port, an airflow chamber, and an air exit port. A UV light source arranged within the airflow chamber disinfects air as it passes through the airflow chamber. The chamber promotes a vortex of swirling air around the intense UV light maximizing particle exposure. The clean air is then expelled at the other end of the chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2021Publication date: November 18, 2021Inventor: David WARREN

Publication number: 20210065079Abstract: A computer-implemented method for assessing automation may include receiving risk factor data from a user. The risk factor data may correspond to one or more risk factors, as applied to an automation opportunity, wherein each risk factor has an associated risk inquiry and a factor weight. A risk score may be generated for each of the one or more risk factors, based on the risk factor data and a scoring matrix. A risk grade for the automation opportunity may be calculated based on the risk score for each of the one or more risk factors. Performance data related to the automation opportunity may be recorded and may be compared to the risk grade. Based on the comparison of the performance data to the risk grade, one or more risk factors, one or more factor weights, a scoring matrix, or a combination thereof, may be adjusted.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2019Publication date: March 4, 2021Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: David WARREN, Marc LYONS, Magdalena CASTANEDA, Jerry WAGNER
