Patent number: 12312230Abstract: A nozzle for beverage dispensing. The nozzle accepts both hot water lines and cold water lines at the nozzle, where the water may be carbonated or still. Cold carbonated water is received near the top of a double cone-shaped insert within the nozzle interior. The cold carbonated water is depressurized prior to being fully exposed to atmospheric pressure by passing the cold carbonated water down and around the double cone-shape of the insert. The depressurized cold carbonated water is collected via a funnel, and is dispensed from the nozzle after exiting the funnel bottom. Hot water is received in chamber within the nozzle separate from the passageway through which the cold carbonated water flows. Both hot and cold water streams are directed to flow in a tight and narrow downward direction via flow straighteners, and the streams are mixed with flavoring after dispensing from the nozzle.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2023Date of Patent: May 27, 2025Assignee: HYDRATION LABS, INC.Inventors: David Watt, Andrew Jaskey

Publication number: 20250137449Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for monitoring and calibrating pump speeds in a beverage dispensing system. A first signal associated with an electrical current supplied to a motor driving a pump may be received and a speed of the pump may be determined. A second signal may be determined based on the first signal and the speed of the pump. Electrical current may be supplied to the motor driving the pump based on the second signal. Additional feedback mechanisms and calibration processes may further reduce dispensing error associated with the pump, enhancing accuracy and reliability of the beverage dispensing system for consistent beverage preparation.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2024Publication date: May 1, 2025Inventors: David Watt, Sam Woolf

Patent number: 12015992Abstract: Systems and methods for clock synchronization are disclosed. A client synchronization system (CSS) may transmit RF pulses to a server CSS over micrometeorite ionization trail (MMIT) channels, and may receive RF pulses from the server CSS over MMIT channels, each received RF pulse following transmitted RF pulse. The client CSS may receive from the server CSS over MMIT channels measurement data including pulse arrival times at the server CSS. The measurement and transmission data may be correlated to identify RF-pulse pairs, each pairing a transmitted RF pulse received by the server CSS with a received RF pulse received from the server CSS, both over the same MMIT. TWTT analysis may be applied to timing data the pairs to compute time offsets between a client clock and a server clock. An analytical model of clock drift may be applied to the offsets to synchronize the client clock to the server clock.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2022Date of Patent: June 18, 2024Assignee: SRI InternationalInventors: Robert H.
