The needle body is designed and can be manufactured with a curved shape and or other geometric features, can be drawn to a desired curvature with heat, or can be curved afterwards, to specific specifications depending on the application. The needle so configured advantageously allows the user to circumvent an obstacle and or obstacles that otherwise inhibit direct linear access to a point-of-interest by providing a device that can take the sharp point of a needle on an indirect path towards the desired therapy delivery point.

Abstract: A system and method that provides economical and accurate data for a selected area (jurisdiction) from a centralized location by generating a base-line map from commercially available information and distributing portions of this map to local jurisdictions. Inaccuracies and other information only available locally are stored in a local database. Periodically these databases are uploaded to a central location and reconciled with the base line map. Advantageously, such reconciliation may include a rules based reconciliation wherein the geo-coordinates from the commercial vendors are used and applied to the local data. A new base line map is then generated and distributed back to the local user. In this manner, the local user has an accurate yet economical map.

Abstract: A system for providing language translation services among a call taker at a call receiving station speaking a first language, a caller placing a request call from a call origin speaking a second language, and a translation service comprises: (a) a call distribution facility at the receiving station that transfers the call to a second-language call taker at the receiving station according to distribution rules; and (b) an information store coupled with the receiving station that contains information relating to selected call origins. The distribution rules are applied according to information received from the information store. The system may further comprise: (c) a translation agency remote from the receiving station that includes a second-language-proficient translator; and (d) a call-initiating facility at the receiving station for contacting the translation agency in selected circumstances.

Abstract: In a system and method for communicating between a special number call answering agency and a mobile action asset the answering agency answers a special number call placed by a caller. The mobile asset participates in responding to the call. The answering agency and the mobile asset communicate wirelessly. The answering agency recognizes and interprets special number information, including at least one of caller identification and location information. The system comprises: (a) a special number receiving terminal located with the mobile asset and configured to receive and display selected information of the special number information; the receiving terminal being configured to dial back the caller based upon the selected information and (b) a call bridge configured for actuation at the call answering agency to connect the caller with the mobile asset and provide the selected information to the mobile asset when the call bridge is in an actuated orientation.

Selected of the service providing stations serve customer-operated communication devices using selected of the telecommunication milieux. The system comprises: (a) an action station configured for selective connection with action agencies; (b) an answering station connected with an action station; (c) a call processing center connected with an answering station and configured for connection with the network; and (d) an on-demand answering station connected in a virtual private network with a call processing center and with an action station.
