  • Patent number: 6643425
Abstract: An optical switch having switch mirror arrays controlled by scanning beams that reduce the amount of electrical connections required and reduce the complexity for constructing large optical switches. Movement of the switch mirror arrays is controlled by one or more scanning beams. The optical switch includes one or more arrays of optical switch inputs and outputs and one or more arrays of movable mirrors to direct light beams from the optical switch inputs to the optical switch outputs. The optical switch also includes one or more control elements to control the movable mirrors based on scanning beams directed to the one or more control elements.

  • Publication number: 20020069464
Abstract: Disclosed is a seat supplement for saddle seats such as those on motorcycles and bicycles. A web or panel of flexible, durable and wear-resistant material having a length longer than width is used to secure two cushion elements within tubular sleeves or pockets located laterally at each end of the length-wise dimension of the web so that the length direction of the web corresponds to the width dimension of the seat upon which it is placed. The cushion elements are rounded or curved, but each has one relatively flat side parallel with the axis of the pad which fits against or butts against the side of the saddle seat, thereby increasing the effective sitting area of a conventional saddle seat.

  • Patent number: 4629960
Abstract: A motor control apparatus is disclosed for controlling and reducing power consumption of a 3-phase induction motor, wherein the motor control apparatus includes control means for controlling current flow in each phase line and voltage sensing means across each control means for sensing back emf when the control means is electrically open in order to measure slip of the motor. A reference voltage signal representative of line voltage is subtracted from the summed back emf measurements in order to provide a voltage control signal which is a function of motor slip. Current measurement means in the form of a current transformer associated with one supply line is provided for measuring current drawn by the motor. The voltage control signal and the current signal are processed to develop a phase control signal for controlling a phase control means and a driver means associated with each control means. A starting control means for providing a soft start for the induction motor is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4380601
Abstract: A cationic thermosetting latex, coating compositions prepared therefrom, and the process for providing a protective coating are disclosed. The thermosetting latex comprises a blocked isocyanate curing agent and a cationic acrylic latex which is prepared by copolymerizing ethylenically unsaturated monomers, at least one of which contains an active hydrogen group, in an acidic medium in the presence of a cationic surfactant, of which the gegen-ion is derived from certain phosphorous-containing acids. Such latices, when formulated into coating compositions, provide corrosion-resistant coatings.
