The bearing is mounted onto a mounting unit and a cladding head of a laser cladding unit is positioned within a bore of the bearing. The cladding head forms laser cladding layers disposed on the inner surface of the bearing. The cladding layers increase a thickness of the bearing and reduce an internal diameter of the bearing.
