  • Patent number: 11534701
Abstract: A membrane-based fluid degassing system is arranged for automated control to a degassing efficiency set point, so that fluid is degassed only as necessary. The control variable may be assigned as the degassing environment, to provide the gas transfer driving force suitable to appropriately degas the fluid. By avoiding unnecessary degassing of the fluid, mobile phase pervaporation through the membrane is minimized.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 2019
Date of Patent: December 27, 2022
Assignee: IDEX Health & Science, LLC
Inventors: Carl Sims, Quan Liu, David Wert

  • Patent number: 8881478
Abstract: A ratcheting take-up device that compensates for imperfect alignment in a tie rod continuity system in the frame of a building wall. The upper ends of the tie rods are tightly clamped within the take-up device by domed segments inserted in a bowl-shaped housing. The segments are also forced together by a compression member in the housing. The domed shape of the segments and the bowl shape of the housing cooperate so that the segments can rotate in any direction to accommodate tie rods that are not perfectly vertical, without a corresponding loss of strength in the connection.

  • Patent number: 7468132
Abstract: A method and a facility for the treatment of waste from concentrated animal feed operations are disclosed. The method includes receiving manure at a central location, digesting the manure and producing therefrom combustible gases, solid matter and water containing dissolved organic pollutants. The combustible gases are used to provide energy and the water is separated from the solid matter. The solid matter is dried to produce a useful bedding material and the water is treated using an activated sludge aeration system to reduce the dissolved organic pollutants to carbon dioxide, bacteria and water. The facility includes various means for executing the method and includes an ultrasonic treatment station for disrupting bacteria cell walls to improve digestion efficiency.

Date of Patent: December 23, 2008
Assignees: Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4147269
Abstract: A cylindrical vessel of large size and integral molded construction is provided having a depressed well which accumulates sludge formed in the course of storage of hydrocarbon fuels. A hole positioned in the top of the vessel directly above said well permits insertion of a pipe which, by suction means, removed the accumulated sludge. Pedestal means, positioned below the tank and adjacent each end, causes the entire vessel to be tilted downwardly toward the well, thereby causing gravimetric migration of sludge toward the well.
