  • Publication number: 20250381571
Abstract: A water treatment unit for improving the quality of water in a water system comprises a container having an inlet and an outlet configured to allow water to flow into and out of the container, respectively. The water treatment unit comprises at least one magnet, at least one sacrificial anode, and a filter element. The at least one magnet is configured to attract ferrous particles and retain ferrous particles to remove the ferrous particles from the water flowing through the container. The at least one sacrificial anode is configured to provide anodic protection and scavenge oxygen from the water flowing through the container. The filter element is configured to remove detritus from the water flowing out of the container. The at least one magnet and the at least one sacrificial anode are located in the container. The filter element is located outside of the container downstream of the outlet.

  • Patent number: 9839087
Abstract: A lighting system (1) has a first lighting circuit (2) configured to provide a first predetermined level of lighting intensity. The first lighting circuit (2) is configured to receive power from a mains electricity supply (3) or from a battery source (4) if the mains supply is unavailable. The first lighting circuit (2) is connected to at least one first Light source (5) and configured, when actuated, to provide lighting at the first predetermined level of lighting intensity. At this time, the first light source is in either an on or off state or a level of light required to raise ambient light level above a predetermined level. The system (1) further has a second lighting circuit (13) configured to provide lighting at least a second predetermined level of lighting intensity. The second lighting circuit (13) is configured to receive power from the mains electricity supply (3) and is connected to at least one second light source (14).

  • Publication number: 20130189245
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of toxoids prepared using a-dicarbonyl toxoiding reagents such as glyoxal, butanedione and phenylglyoxal. The toxoids may be prepared with low concentrations of toxoiding reagent and in short periods of time, often in as few as 24 hours, making the toxoiding reagents particularly advantageous when compared with traditional formaldehyde toxoiding. Toxoids prepared using dicarbonyl reagents such as phenylglyoxal are described and claimed as are pharmaceutical and vaccine compositions comprising the toxoids, methods of treatment using such compositions and antibodies generated by immunisation with the toxoid and methods of treatment using the antibodies so prepared or fragments of such antibodies.
