  • Patent number: 12197069
Abstract: A display system includes a backlight configured to project light. A first display unit is disposed proximate the backlight. A second display unit is disposed proximate the first display unit. A microcontroller is in communication with one or more of the backlight, the first display unit and the second display unit. The microcontroller executes instructions to adjust the first display unit between a first transmissive state and a second transmissive state.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 5, 2023
Date of Patent: January 14, 2025
    Assignee: Visteon Global Technologies, Inc.

  • Patent number: 10838523
Abstract: A touch screen device includes a display screen having a touch surface, an input knob, and a microcontroller programmed to execute a method. The knob has a stationary member with conductive base pads facing the surface and a moveable member. The knob lacks a direct electrical connection to the surface. The microcontroller receives encoder signals as the moveable member moves with respect to the stationary member, with the signals being indicative of discrete touch events between the moveable member and the screen, e.g., via an intervening switch. The microcontroller processes the encoder signals to determine a direction of movement of the knob, and derives a true position of a center point of the knob using a position of each of the base pads. The microcontroller then controls an operation of the touch screen device.

  • Publication number: 20060111832
Abstract: An electronic control module for electrical components of a vehicle. The electronic control module has an internal electrical ground. The module comprises a housing having an open end and a side wall extending from the open end. The side wall has a slot formed along the side wall. The module further comprises a printed circuit board disposed within the slot. The printed circuit board has a solder pattern disposed thereon, wherein at least a portion of the solder pattern is adjacent the open end and aligned with the slot. The module further comprises an end plate attached to the open end of the housing to enclose the printed circuit board therein. The end plate has an aperture being aligned with the slot of the housing. The module further comprises an attachment member disposed through the aperture in the slot. The attachment member is in contact with the portion of the solder pattern and with the side wall to provide an electrical ground for the printed circuit board.
