  • Publication number: 20070241554
Abstract: A security image embedded in an original printed document survives a conversion process into an image replacement document in binary image form having a commercial equivalency with the original printed document. The security image is embedded in a background at an approximately common visual density with the background so that the security image is at least partially indistinguishable from the background to the naked eye. Print elements of the security image are arranged differently than the print elements of the background and both are further arranged so that that upon conversion into the image replacement document in binary image form, the security image survives and the background drops out.

  • Publication number: 20070201116
Abstract: A compound security feature is formed by printing latent images together with visually integrated settings using an invisible ink. Even if illuminated by a wavelength capable of rendering the inks visible, the latent images remain visually indistinguishable from their visually integrated settings. However, the latent images and visually integrated settings differ in one or more less obvious ways so that the latent images can be distinguished by using a visual aid.

  • Publication number: 20070029394
Abstract: This invention relates generally to document protection methods and product. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for hiding information in a document by means of a latent image or message, which is practically invisible to the naked eye and may only be revealed through use of a matching viewing device. The present invention further relates to a method for creating original documents containing latent messages, which are revealed when the document is read by a viewing device. In one embodiment, print elements such as lines, dots, spots, swirls, or images are used to form covert information. The covert information print elements are disposed at an angle to print elements of a background, thus creating a covert document. In another embodiment, print elements of the covert information are used with a solid background.

  • Patent number: 7060915
Abstract: A miniature switching device has an operating member (14) with an upstanding button (26) that can be rapidly slid in any one of four horizontal directions to close any one of four switches in a casing (12). A sheet metal conducting member (28) has a flat base portion (60) that lies in the casing under said operating member, and has four upstanding plates (62) that extend from bends (63) at the periphery of the base portion. Each plate has an upper end (81) that lies against a side of the operating member so horizontal movement of the operating member tilts a plate about a corresponding bend. Each plate has a finger (83) that extends largely horizontally from the plate and that engages a corresponding contact (56) on a bottom wall of the casing.

  • Publication number: 20050219599
Abstract: A document containing security images which enable original documents to be distinguished from copies of the originals. The document may include an image having a hidden conductive trace and contact points. The document can be verified as being an original by applying a voltage to a plurality of probes in contact with the contact points.

  • Patent number: 3958739
Abstract: A workpiece holder assembly for aligning a turbine with a turbine shaft without the requirement of an aligning pin received by the workpieces. The workpiece holder assembly receives the turbine shaft and the turbine. Upon depression of the top of the assembly, as by moving the assembly upward so as to engage an abutment, the interface between an end of the turbine shaft and one face of the turbine is exposed. The assembly is rotated over a full circle while the interface receives a welding beam of electrons. The assembly and abutment may be employed with existing electron beam welding apparatus.
