    Abstract: A base supports an adjustable seat in the interests of automated weight shifting in order to relieve pressure. An orientation-adjusting system allows for the seat to be shifted to create aforementioned pressure relief. The seat has a sitting platform and a back support. The sitting platform is tiltable thanks to a joined tilting platform of the orientation-adjusting system. The back support can be inclined relative to the seat by means of a reclining mechanism of the orientation-adjusting system. A control module is programmed to direct shifting of the seat. The control module uses data gathered from a sensor system and an orientation feedback system to ensure that any adjustments made via the orientation-adjusting system are only performed when it is safe to so. A communication module and data storage unit further expand upon the capabilities of the system.

    Abstract: A self-ligating orthodontic bracket assembly with selectively removable self-ligation features is configured to provide a low profile to minimize labial-lingual prominence. A clip is configured to snap into the base of the bracket and close over the archwire slot to retain the archwire in the slot. The clip is easily moved to an open position when the archwire is changed out during routine treatment. The clip includes spaced apart arms that, along with the bracket tie-wings, straddle the most outwardly prominent site on the crown of the tooth thereby minimizing labial-lingual profile. The self-ligation capability is achieved without any increase in occlusal-gingival height or measial-distal width of the orthodontic bracket.

The pads connect these members using at least one conduit that is not substantially centered on the kneecap or top of the shoulder when they are applied for thermal therapy on the knee or shoulder, respectively. The pads thus do not blindly adhere to traditional multijoint notions of symmetry, but instead opt for increased flexibility, prevention of undesired blockage or occlusion during joint flexure and restriction of range of motion.

A decorative flooring unit is also provided having a tile with a shim layer on its underside, an edge member surrounding the tile and a substrate extending beneath the edge member and the tile. The tile is installed within the edge member with the shim layer facing away from the substrate. The tile may be reversed after sanding the edge member and shim layer.
