  • Publication number: 20060033700
Abstract: A control system display screen for appliances is provided with a backlighted screen for which the color may be varied. The backlighted screen is provided with a multiplicity of groups of three liquid crystal devices (“LCD”) in which each group has LCDs of three different colors with red, green and blue being the preferred colors. The intensity of the light emitted from each set of LCDs of a given color may be varied by a control manipulated by the operator to thereby provide a backlighted screen of virtually any desired color that may be created by mixing those three colors.

  • Publication number: 20050276046
Abstract: A lighting apparatus includes multiple point light sources housed in a reflector housing. The reflector housing diffuses the light produced by the point light sources to emulate a linear light source. Power supplies are provided to energize the light sources, to control heat generation and energy usage, and to provide thermal protection.

  • Patent number: 6907735
Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating electricity for use with liquid hydrogen storage facility. The system includes a liquid hydrogen storage tank with a pressure relief. An energy conversion device is connected to the pressure relief valve an converts the hydrogen into rotational energy to operate an electrical generator. Electricity created by the generator can be fed back to operate ancillary loads in the facility, or sold for use in a main electrical grid.

  • Publication number: 20050048881
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for sharpening a circular blade. The sharpening apparatus is adapted to be positioned adjacent a power-driven sharpening wheel at an angle. The sharpening apparatus includes an angularly adjustable tool holder for angularly positioning the circular blade against the power-driven sharpening wheel. The sharpening apparatus of the present invention also includes a blade holder that quickly and easily locks the circular blade into place for sharpening and releases the blade after sharpening is complete. The present invention provides a reasonably safe and efficient sharpening apparatus for circular blades that provides uniform, high quality sharpening of one-sided and two-sided blades of varying circumferences.

  • Patent number: 6789016
Abstract: An airborne collision avoidance system includes a receiver stage constructed and arranged to detect (a) at a first radio frequency, first interrogation signals, and first collision resolution advisory (RA) signals transmitted from other nearby aircraft, and (b) at a second radio frequency, first acquisition signals including position information with respect to the nearby aircraft, and first reply signals from the nearby aircraft. A transmitter stage is constructed to produce (a) at the first radio frequency, second interrogation signals and second collision RA signals, and (b) at the second radio frequency, second acquisition signals including position information with respect to the given aircraft, and second reply signals from the given aircraft in response to the first interrogation signals. Tracking and collision avoidance information derived by a system processor from the detected first acquisition and first RA signals is shown on a cockpit display.

  • Patent number: 5565123
Abstract: A control circuit for a stove, cooktop or oven utilizing at least one electrical radiant heating element. The circuit effectively compares a controlled voltage and internally generated saw-tooth voltage wave to control the percent power to the radiant element. Also included is a slow start feature to minimize power surge when first energizing the element.

  • Patent number: 4496882
Abstract: An internally generated raster scanning circuit includes self correction for pincushion distortion by multiplying the horizontal parabolic wave form by the vertical saw-tooth wave form. The multiplier is biased to provide the required 180.degree. phase shift at the midpoint of the waveform. The multiplied signals are coupled back to an input of the existing power amplifier and a corrected current is then supplied to the vertical yoke coil, requiring no added reactor transformer. The balance or ratio of the top and bottom correction currents can be adjusted as required by a simple control in the multiplier circuit.
