  • Patent number: 10915738
Abstract: A system for implementing visitor customizations at a facility using selective image recognition. The system includes a processor and memory storing an optical marker definition and, for potential visitors to the facility, a reference file for image-based recognition of a person. The system includes a camera in a space of the facility capturing an image of the space. The system includes an opt-in verification module run by the processor that processes the captured image of the space to identify, based on the optical marker definition, presence of an optical marker. The system includes an image recognition module run by the processor that compares recognizable features in the captured image with the reference files for the potential visitors to recognize the visitor. The memory stores opt-in records for the potential visitors, and permission to use recognition technology is obtained prior to processing by the image recognition module.

  • Patent number: 9485603
Abstract: Embodiments described herein use customized beacons embedded in Bluetooth low-energy advertisements to transmit information between a user device and a beacon module. In one embodiment, the beacon module transmits the advertisement to the user device. The user device then parses the data contained within the advertisement to identify a customized beacon. Based on the information contained in the beacon, the application may provide an audio and/or visual presentation to the user. For example, the beacon may inform the user device that it is within close proximity to a particular geographic location (e.g., a point of interest). In response, the beacon application may present a visual presentation about the geographic location using a display screen within the user device.

  • Patent number: 9319411
Abstract: A cloud management node (102) in a public cloud (100) works together with a private management system (116) in a private cloud (114) to manage provisioning and access to cloud services from the private cloud (114). Private data does not need to be held or duplicated in the public cloud so that the data security is enhanced. The private management system (116) issues tokens for authorization so that user access to cloud services may be controlled. The cloud management node (102) receives provisioning requests from the private cloud (114) and selects and informs an appropriate service provider node (112) that a provisioning request is waiting. In examples an administrator at the private cloud (114) is able to manage cloud service access for many users in a simple effective manner and users are able to operate multiple cloud services from a single account.

  • Patent number: 8773245
Abstract: There is provided a physical token for use in a defined venue with a server having communication with the physical token. The physical token may comprise an identification data and a transmitter configured to transmit the identification data. The physical token is configured to transmit the identification data to the server to cause the server to initiate a sensory interaction with a user possessing the physical token. The sensory interaction may comprise a character in the defined venue interacting with the user possessing the physical token. The sensory interaction may also comprise a display screen in the defined venue displaying information to the user possessing the physical token. The sensory interaction may further comprise an audio speaker in the defined venue announcing information to the user possessing the physical token. The physical token may represent an affinity comprising an experience, entitlement, or characteristic of the user possessing the physical token.

  • Patent number: 8646695
Abstract: A wearable RFID device is configured with a geometry and materials that allow an HF RFID system and a UHF RFID system to operate in close proximity to a human body and to each other with minimal impact on performance. An RFID device may have a three-dimensional, multi-planar UHF antenna incorporated into a dielectric core with an HF antenna, or a single-plane UHF antenna separated from an HF antenna by a rigid spacer. A conductive metal backplane is disposed adjacent the wearable RFID device to improve antenna performance when disposed in close proximity to an absorbing body, such as a human being.

  • Patent number: 8601731
Abstract: A wearable band with an adjustable size or length. The band includes a first band element with a raised center or identification member. The band includes a second band element with a body having a loop or lasso at one end defined by an inner surface of a sidewall. The outer sidewall of the raised center member is detachably coupled to the inner surface of the loop-defining sidewall when the center member is received within and captured by the loop such as by a snap detent arrangement. To allow sizing, the second band element includes both an inner band sizing element including the loop-defining sidewall at one of its ends and an outer band sizing element that is detachably coupled to the inner band sizing element. The length of the second band element is defined by the combined length of the inner and outer band sizing elements.

  • Patent number: 8590192
Abstract: A wearable band with an adjustable size or length. The band includes a first band element and a second band element with a planar body extending from a first to a second end. The second band element body is greater in length than the first band element body and includes a hole for receiving the first band element body. The band includes a coupling mechanism that detachably connects an outer sidewall of the first band element body to the inner sidewall of the second band element body, e.g., to allow the two band elements to be selectively disconnected and reassembled without tools. The coupling mechanism includes a first coupling component extending along the outer sidewall of the first band element and a second coupling element extending along the inner sidewall of the second band element such that the two band elements are connected along the periphery of the hole.
