Publication number: 20240079440Abstract: A multispectral sensing device includes a first die, including silicon, which is patterned to define a first array of sensor elements, which output first electrical signals in response to optical radiation that is incident on the device in a band of wavelengths less than 1000 nm that is incident on the front side of the first die. A second die has its first side bonded to the back side of the first die and includes a photosensitive material and is patterned to define a second array of sensor elements, which output second electrical signals in response to the optical radiation that is incident on the device in a second band of wavelengths greater than 1000 nm that passes through the first die and is incident on the first side of the second die. Readout circuitry reads the first electrical signals and the second electrical signals serially out of the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Oray O. Patent number: 6349217Abstract: A base station with a defined geographic coverage area in a wireless communication system includes a base receiver, a base transmitter, and a base antenna array. The base antenna array has a base station beamformer arranged to produce (a) a broad antenna beam so that the base station can receive random access signals from subscriber stations at different locations within the coverage area and transmit beacon or acknowledgment signals to the subscriber stations at the different locations, and (b) a narrow antenna beam directed to an acknowledged subscriber station for receiving or transmitting data or traffic signals from or to the subscriber station. A subscriber station includes a subscriber receiver, a subscriber transmitter and a subscriber antenna. The subscriber transmitter is arranged to transmit signals to a system base station on one or more of a number of carriers having a defined frequency spacing within a given spectrum allotment.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 1998Date of Patent: February 19, 2002Assignee: Lucent Technologies Inc.Inventors: Walter Honcharenko, Steve Allpress, David Y. Patent number: 6246883Abstract: The mobil base station is disclosed having a computer readable storage medium for information and mobil wireless communication circuitry for performing wireless communication with a user in its broadcast area. In a complimentary configuration, the user has a terminal with a computer readable storage medium for storing information and terminal wireless communication circuitry for cooperating with the mobil wireless communication circuitry to facilitate wireless communication therebetween. The mobil base station performs a wireless transfer of information by moving to the user's particular geographical area such that its broadcast area includes the user's terminal. Using the mobil wireless communication circuitry and the terminal wireless communication circuitry, a wireless communication link is established. A transfer of information then occurs between the storage medium of the mobile base station and the storage medium of the terminal via the wireless communication link.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1996Date of Patent: June 12, 2001Assignee: Lucent Technologies, Inc.Inventor: David Y. Patent number: 5963311Abstract: An optical pyrometer and method of use provides a dual path optical system for processing light from a radiating stationary object or a moving thermal stream. Light is collected by primary optics forming an intermediate image in a plane of a field limiting aperture for establishing a preferred field of view. The light is then split into a pair of complimentary beams with one beam directed through a long wavelength filter and the other directed through a short wavelength filter. Both beams then move through separate secondary optics and are then rejoined and directed as normal non-overlapping and adjacent images onto a digitizing detector for capturing the images. Signals from the detector are handled by a computer where a ratio mapping of pair of signals from corresponding points on the two images is constructed and displayed on a monitor for viewing a temperature map of the object or thermal stream.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1997Date of Patent: October 5, 1999Assignee: Stratonics, Inc.Inventors: James E. Craig, Ronald A. Parker, David Y. Lee, Ernesto Hurtado

Patent number: 5960353Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for determining load on a microcell in a telecommunications network. The network comprises a base station, at least one microcell controlled by the base station, at least one terminal served by the microcell, and feedback between the base station and the terminal. The feedback enables the terminal to provide an up-link signal indicative of a particular down-link signal from the microcell. The method embodiment of the invention involves transmitting a particular down-link signal from the microcell, and receiving an up-link signal from a terminal. Next, a determination is made whether the up-link signal is indicative of the particular down-link signal. If it is, then the load on the microcell includes the terminal. The method and system are particularly useful in CATV networks having a plurality of microcells operating in a simulcast mode.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1996Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: Lucent Technologies, Inc.Inventor: David Y. Patent number: 5894291Abstract: For use with an antenna tower, the antenna tower providing a mount for an active antenna that is subject to misdirection when the antenna tower sways, a system for, and method of, dynamically counteracting sway in the antenna tower. The system includes: (1) a rotation detector that senses a rotation, relative to a fixed reference plane, of a portion of the antenna tower proximate the active antenna and develops a sway signal indicative thereof and (2) antenna beam steering logic, coupled to the rotation detector, that receives the sway signal and modifies a drive signal provided to elements of the active antenna to redirect a beam projecting therefrom, the drive signal thereby compensated for the rotation to counteract the sway in the antenna tower. The system may form a portion of a wireless communications station.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1996Date of Patent: April 13, 1999Assignee: Lucent Technologies, Inc.Inventor: David Y. Lee
