  • Publication number: 20140061524
Abstract: A valve with at least two active positions is disclosed. When set in a first position, the valve can be connected to a first channel. While set in a second position, the valve can be connected to a second channel. The valve constitutes a part of a structure of a compressor, preferably a compressor in a tire repair kit. The tire repair kit also includes a cassette with a sealing mass. The valve serves as a rotary valve, which, once set in the first position, forms a channel through which compressed air flows to an outlet. Once set in the second position, the rotary valve forms the other channel through which compressed air flows to the cassette with a sealing mass. By using the rotary valve, the compressor is useful not only for connecting to a punctured tire requiring repair, but also for other purposes.

  • Publication number: 20050158678
Abstract: An apparatus for heating a fluid in a process having a process heat requirement includes a shell, at least one tube having a design temperature inside the shell, a plurality of burners adjacent the inner wall of the shell, and transfer means whereby flue gas flows from a first interior region to a second interior region of the shell. A first portion of the tube is in the first interior region and a second portion of the tube is in the second interior region. The first and second portions of the tube are adapted to contain a flow of the fluid. The burners produce the flue gas in the first interior region and a variable heat flux approximating the process heat requirement and simultaneously maximizing the heat flux to the first portion of the tube while maintaining substantially all of the first portion of the tube at the design temperature.

  • Patent number: 6514731
Abstract: Human hepatitis C virus (HCV) has been identified as the aetiological agent of non-A, non-B hepatitis (NANBH). HCV viruses display considerable genotypic and phenotypic heterogeneity. Thus, there is considerable need in the art for more sensitive reagents that facilitate the detection of HCV variants. The genome of hepatitis C virus (HCV) consists of seven functional regions: the core, E1, E2/NS1, NS2, NS3, NS4, and NS5 regions. An attempt was made to improve the sensitivity of anti-HCV assays by developing multiple copy epitope fusion antigens (MEFAs) which incorporate the major immunodominant epitopes from the functional regions of the HCV genome. These MEFAs are encompassed by the following generic structural formula: (A)x—(B)y—(C)z. This formula represents a linear amino acid sequence comprising multiple copies of one HCV epitope (A) linked to multiple copies of another HCV epitope (B) which in turn is linked to multiple copies of yet another HCV epitope (C).
