  • Patent number: 12166376
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a power supply management system adapted for use with at least one utility proxy power source, to control powering first and second loads when an AC mains power source is not available to provide power to the loads. The system uses an internal DC bus of a power converter to receive power from a utility proxy, and a DC/DC converter/charger of the power converter to receive power from a short term supplemental battery subsystem. The DC/DC converter/charger is used to supply a first AC output signal to power the first load. An AC/DC rectifier of the power converter uses the DC power from the utility proxy, supplied onto the internal bus, to generate a second AC output signal which is applied independently to the second load to power the second load fully independently of the first load.

  • Patent number: 12161432
Abstract: Co-manipulation robotic systems are described herein that may be used for assisting with laparoscopic surgical procedures. The co-manipulation robotic systems allow a surgeon to use commercially-available surgical tools while providing benefits associated with surgical robotics. Advantageously, the surgical tools may be seamlessly coupled to the robot arms using a disposable coupler while the reusable portions of the robot arm remain in a sterile drape. Further, the co-manipulation robotic system may operate in multiple modes to enhance usability and safety, while allowing the surgeon to position the instrument directly with the instrument handle and further maintain the desired position of the instrument using the robot arm.

  • Patent number: 12165671
Abstract: Techniques for performing conversation recovery of a system/user exchange are described. In response to determining that an action responsive to a user input cannot be performed, a system may determine a topic to recommend to a user. The topic may be unrelated to the original substance of the user input. The system may have access to various data representing a context in which a user provides an input to the system. The system may use these inputs and various data at runtime to make a determination regarding whether a user should be recommended a topic, as well as what that topic should be. The system may cause a question be output to the user, with the question asking the user about the topic, for example whether the user would like a song played, whether the user would like to hear information about a particular individual (e.g., artist), whether the user would like to know about a particular skill (e.g.

  • Patent number: 12162013
Abstract: A compact sorting flow cytometer system is disclosed. The system includes a flow cell and a deflection unit in communication with the flow cell to receive charged drops and uncharged drops in a stream of a sample biological fluid. The deflection unit includes a case having a deflection cone and chamber, a tub with a drain, and a slot in a base. The deflection unit further includes electrostatic charge plates in the cone forming an electrostatic charge field; and first and second pivotal scuppers, and a center non-pivotal collector arranged along a shaft in the tub of the case. Uncharged drops pass the electrostatic charge field undeflected in a center stream path while charged drops are deflected away from it. The pivotal scuppers pivot between positions to direct charged drops into the tub for aspiration or to pass through the slot in the base for collection.

  • Patent number: 12163419
Abstract: In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method is disclosed. The method includes operating a downhole tool by transmitting first data to one or more surface processors in a telemetry sequence. The first data may include a flex word having a first identifier identifying a first payload, and the first data is transmitted using a synchronized time sequence. The method includes detecting, by the downhole tool, an operating condition that occurs while the downhole tool is downhole. Based on the operating condition, the method includes dynamically changing the flex word to comprise a second identifier identifying a second payload transmitted in second data in the telemetry sequence to the one or more surface processors, and the second data is transmitted in the telemetry sequence using the synchronized time sequence.

  • Patent number: 12164468
Abstract: A podcast creation and publishing method for execution by a computer system that includes defining, via a graphical user interface, a transitional relationship between at least two media events of a plurality of media events, where a first media event and a second media event at least partially overlap. The method further includes updating corresponding metadata associated with the first and second media events to include the transitional relationship. The method further includes selecting, from a drop down menu displayed on the graphical user interface, an option to generate a podcast from the plurality of media events. The method further includes generating the podcast from the plurality of media events by retrieving the plurality of media events from the media event database along with the metadata, converting the plurality of media events and the metadata into a common format to produce the podcast, and distributing the podcast over a network.

  • Patent number: 12165516
Abstract: Traffic collisions involving autonomous vehicles can be greatly reduced by timely initiation of evasive action. However, calculating a suitable sequence of actions capable of avoiding or minimizing the collision may require the speed of a supercomputer. Therefore, disclosed is a method for the autonomous vehicle to transmit an emergency message with sensor data to a nearby access point in 5G or 6G, and the access point can forward the data to a supercomputer trained in collision avoidance. The supercomputer, millions or billions of times faster than vehicle computers, explores many sequences of actions and selects the one most likely to avoid the collision or if unavoidable, the sequence of actions that results in the least harm. Again using an exclusive channel, the supercomputer and the access point can relay the selected sequence to the autonomous vehicle, for immediate collision avoidance or harm minimization.

  • Patent number: 12166620
Abstract: In 5G-Advanced and especially 6G, a primary concern is the increase in message faulting due to higher pathloss and phase noise at FR2 frequencies. Current methods for dealing with faults include packing the message with bulky error-correction (FEC) bits which are often ineffective, or automatically requesting a costly retransmission. As a substantially better alternative, the receiver may identify the specific fault locations and attempt an immediate repair by testing the modulation quality of each message element. For example, for a QAM-modulated message, the receiver can measure the I and Q branch deviations relative to predetermined levels, and the message element(s) with largest deviations is/are likely faulted. Alternatively, if the message is advantageously modulated according to the waveform amplitude and phase, the receiver can determine the amplitude and phase deviations relative to predetermined values. An AI model can greatly assist in the fault localization and in finding the corrected values.

  • Patent number: 12161799
Abstract: Systems slow breathing with positive pressure therapy. In embodiments, a current interim breathing rate target is set, and periodically magnitude of a variable pressure waveform scaled to the current interim breathing rate target is increased if breathing rate is greater than the interim rate target to lengthen breath duration. The magnitude of the pressure increase may be a function of the difference between the interim rate target and the breathing rate. The interim rate target may be reduced in response to slowing breathing rate. The waveform cycles, inhalation to exhalation, when airflow decreases to a cycle threshold. Different interim rate targets have different cycle threshold functions that allow easier cycling as the interim rate targets decrease. Similarly, the waveform triggers, exhalation to inhalation, when airflow increases to a trigger threshold. Different interim rate targets have different trigger threshold functions that allow easier triggering as the interim rate targets decrease.
