  • Publication number: 20260201741
Abstract: ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems AB has developed a method for determining a load on a DC motor (24) of an automatic entrance barrier system comprises the steps of: receiving quadrature values and/or total current values absorbed by the motor (24) and obtained during a test run of the automatic entrance barrier system; determining an average value for the quadrature and/or for the total current absorbed by the motor (24) during a closed loop operation phase (16) of the motor (24); determining, based at least on the respective average value, a load parameter of the automatic entrance barrier system; and outputting a signal based on the determined load parameter or storing the load parameter. Further, a corresponding computer program product, a control unit (26) and a DC motor (24) comprising such control unit (26) are shown.

  • Publication number: 20260196122
Abstract: A system for automated operation of a movable barrier includes a controller, an operator operable under control of the controller where the operator is operably coupled to the movable barrier to transition the movable barrier between an open position and a closed position responsive to operation of the operator, and an efficiency monitoring module including processing circuitry configured to receive current draw data associated with current draw of the operator while transitioning the movable barrier between the open position and the closed position, compare the received current draw data to reference current draw data to determine an efficiency rating for the operator, compare the determined efficiency rating to a threshold efficiency rating for a device class to which the operator belongs, and initiate a notification in response to the determined efficiency rating being below the threshold efficiency rating.

  • Publication number: 20260193926
Abstract: A door operator system may include a sectional door, an opener having a motor operable under control of a controller, a balance module comprising processing circuitry, and a current sensor. The opener may be operably coupled to the sectional door to move the sectional door via a roller assembly operably coupling the sectional door to a rail assembly to enable the sectional door to transition between an open state and a closed state via the roller assembly carrying the sectional door in the rail assembly responsive to operation of the motor. The current sensor may be operably coupled to the motor to measure current draw of the motor as current draw data for provision to the balance module to enable the balance module to determine whether the sectional door is in an unbalanced condition based on the current draw data.

  • Publication number: 20260036286
Abstract: A light assembly for use with a garage door operator (GDO) convertible between a ceiling mounted configuration and a jackshaft configuration may be provided. The light assembly may include a first illumination member and local and remote light housings to which the first illumination member may be independently removably operably coupleable. The first illumination member may be operable between an illuminated state in which it may illuminate an area and a non-illuminated state in which it may not illuminate the area. The local light housing may have a first power source and may be disposed at a main housing of a motorhead of the GDO. The remote light housing may have a second power source and may be disposed away from the main housing. The first illumination member may be operably coupled to one of the local light housing and the remote light housing at a time.
