  • Publication number: 20050030760
Abstract: An illumination arrangement for a vehicle headlight is formed of a plurality of contiguous elementary cells, each including a light source, defined by an emission surface having a horizontal dimension and a vertical dimension and capable of emitting a luminous flux, and an optical system capable of conveying the luminous flux at a predetermined solid angle about a predetermined direction. The elementary cells are disposed so as to generate overall a predetermined distribution of light emission. The horizontal dimension and the vertical dimension of the emission surface of the light sources are different. The vertical dimension is less than 1 mm and the ratio between the horizontal dimension and the vertical dimension is greater than 2.

  • Publication number: 20050030758
Abstract: A reflector for a vehicle headlamp capable of generating a light beam and directing it with respect to an optical axis in order to illuminate the surrounding space according to a predetermined luminosity distribution is described. The reflector is subdivided into a plurality of reflecting sectors capable of reflecting the light emitted from a light source located along an optical axis of the headlamp in order to obtain the said luminosity distribution. Each segment of the reflector is formed by a portion of a surface having rotational symmetry about a corresponding axis. This axis is orientated with respect to the optical axis of the headlamp in such a way that the corresponding sector is capable of directing the light from the light source into a predetermined spatial region of the luminosity distribution.

  • Publication number: 20040239228
Abstract: A three-dimensional structure in the form of filament (6) for an incandescent lamp comprises a plurality of tungsten microfilaments (6A) having micrometric and/or nanometric dimensions, to form a photonic crystal structure. The microfilaments (6A) are arranged so as to form a series of microcavities in the three-dimensional structure (6), a means having a refraction index different from that of tungsten being present within said microcavities. The described arrangement makes it possible to prevent propagation and spontaneous emission of IR radiation of specific wavelenghts e allows at the same time propagation and spontaneous emission of visible radiation.

  • Patent number: 6761475
Abstract: A lighting device, comprising a luminous source consisting of a LED (5) that is placed between the flanges (2,3) of a primary reflector (1), which is essentially V-shaped. A secondary reflector (7), composed of an elongated element with steps (8), runs along the extension of one of the flanges (3) of the primary reflector (1), while an elongated transparent diffuser (9) runs along the extension of the other flange (2).

  • Patent number: 6705746
Abstract: A controlled-luminance lighting device comprising a fluorescent light source of a linear type (5), which extends longitudinally between a reflector (1) that is formed by an elongated body having a curved surface, and a set of transverse fins (3), which are set at a distance apart from one another and which define a grill for directional control of the light emitted by the light source (5). The reflector (1) defines, together with the transverse fins (3), a plurality of elements (2) set alongside one another of a generally parabolic shape.

  • Patent number: 6641282
Abstract: A controlled-luminance lighting device comprising a fluorescent lamp (1), which extends longitudinally between a primary reflector (2) and a secondary reflector (3). The primary reflector (2) is formed by a plurality of cup-like elements (4) set alongside one another, having a generally parabolic shape, through which there extends the lamp (1), and the secondary reflector (3) is constituted by a tray-like element with a curved surface. The primary reflector (2) further includes a tile (9), which extends longitudinally between each pair of cup-like elements (4).
