Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a plurality of first plate assemblies interleaved with a plurality of second plate assemblies in stacked relation. Each of the plate assemblies includes a flow path for receiving a working fluid therein. Ports formed in each of the plate assemblies are aligned to form an external inlet manifold and an external outlet manifold in fluid communication with the flow paths. Leakage and contamination of the working fluids are minimized by separating the flow paths of the respective working fluids with adjoining double walls and by providing separate external working fluid manifolds.

Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a plurality of plates in stacked relation forming a plurality of fluid channels therebetween. Ports formed in each of the plates are arranged and substantially align to form an inlet manifold and an outlet manifold for receiving a working fluid therein, wherein the inlet manifold is in fluid communication with an inlet conduit and the outlet manifold is in fluid communication with an outlet conduit. A temperature manipulation element is disposed in at least one of the inlet conduit and the outlet conduit to manipulate a temperature of the working fluid flowing therethrough.

Abstract: An integrated heat exchange and fluid control device is provided having an inlet, a valve, a heat exchange section in fluid connection with the valve, a bypass section in fluid connection with the valve, and an outlet section in fluid communication with the bypass section and the heat exchange section. The valve is configured to distribute flow of the coolant into the heat exchange system and/or the bypass section. In the heat exchange sections, coolant is substantially cooled by a second fluid or airflow. In the bypass section, the coolant is substantially prevented from being cooled by the second fluid or airflow.

Abstract: A refrigeration and air-cycle air conditioning system is provided for a body defining interior space, preferably a stand alone refrigeration cabinet. The air conditioning system includes a unique combination of a compressor, intercooler, expander, motor and plenum to increase the performance of the system making it practical for use in commercial refrigeration.
