  • Patent number: 7069465
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for reliable failover involving incomplete redundant arrays of inexpensive disks (RAID) writes in clustering systems. The system comprises the restructuring of a mirror race table (MRT) and a storage location that may be a non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) module in a shared disk enclosure to make the MRT accessible to all nodes in the system. In one embodiment, the NVRAM module comprises copies of MRTs from each node operating within the cluster system.

  • Patent number: 7038915
Abstract: A mounting frame located in a computer cabinet equipment drawer can be transitioned to a loading position to receive an electrical device. The mounting frame in the loading position provides ample manipulation space for connecting or removing the electrical device. The mounting frame may also be retracted to an operational position. The retracted mounting frame allows the electrical device to be positioned in a dense array with minimal space between electrical devices. The mounting frame supports positioning a plurality of electrical devices in dense arrays within a computer equipment cabinet equipment drawer while also providing an adequate manipulation space for connecting and removing the electrical devices. The arrangement allows the electrical devices to be hot swappable while still being densely located.

  • Patent number: 6959399
Abstract: A disk array storage system and error recovery method wherein recovery from disk errors is achieved using automated selective power cycling. Initially, identification is made of a faulty disk drive in the array that exhibits an error condition in which the drive fails to perform a requested operation. The faulty disk drive is selectively power cycled while power to other disk drives in the array is maintained. Following the power cycling sequence, the requested operation is retried.
