Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for processing optical fiber preforms are disclosed. According to one aspect, an apparatus generally includes a furnace body and a muffle disposed within the furnace body. A space between the muffle and the furnace body defines a first interior volume. The muffle defines a second interior volume sealed from the first interior volume. An annulus gas is supplied to the first interior volume and a process gas is supplied to the second interior volume. A differential pressure gauge is coupled to the interior volumes. A flow controller is coupled to at least one of the gas sources and to the differential pressure gauge. The flow controller receives a differential pressure signal from the differential pressure gauge and adjusts a flow of a gas such that the pressure differential between the first interior volume and the second interior volume is minimized.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a connector that comprises a housing and wafers. The housing comprises a top wall and a bottom wall separated from each other in a mounting direction. The wafers are mated to the housing in a mating direction and supported by the housing. A first wafer is configured to be limited in the mounting direction. A second wafer is configured to be limited in the mating direction. A possible benefit from a match between a limiting block of the first wafer and a limiting groove of the housing and a match between the limiting block of the first wafer and a limiting opening of the housing is that the first wafer is less easy to move between the top wall and the bottom wall of the housing along the mounting direction and can be more firmly supported by the housing.

Abstract: A method for enhancing resource utilization in Texas Holdem poker comprises administering a primary Texas Holdem poker round for a plurality of players and, concurrently with the primary Texas Holdem poker round, administering a secondary Texas Holdem poker round among at least some players who have folded out of the primary Texas Holdem poker round. These folded players retain their respective hole cards from the primary Texas Holdem poker round for the secondary Texas Holdem poker round, and the secondary Texas Holdem poker round utilizes at least one otherwise idle resource from the primary Texas Holdem poker round. For physical games played at a table with physical playing cards, the otherwise idle resource(s) comprises table positions of folded players, and for computerized poker games played with virtual playing cards, the otherwise idle resource(s) comprise the remote communication connections between the dealer computer system and the player computer systems.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for displaying a user interface associated with a premises management system. The user interface may display a plurality of interfaces, such as an interface for controlling the premises management system. The user interface may support other interfaces for displaying content and controlling devices at a premises. The user interface may display different interfaces using a schedule. The schedule may be determined by a timeline user interface based on user input.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for determining an advertisement based on the relative motion of an audience to the advertisement. The system determines the relative motion of the audience to the advertisement and the audience demographics to determine advertisement content and format. The system causes to be displayed the advertisement having both the determined content and format. For example, the systems and methods present a static advertisement image to an audience with a large relative motion to the advertisement, allowing the advertiser to present information to moving audiences who will not be potentially distracted by a video advertisement.

Abstract: Described embodiments provide systems and methods for providing closed-loop Information Technology (IT) issue remediation. At least one host state change is discovered. Events to be generated and persisted as a result of discovering the at least one host state change are calculated. The events are sent to a user for approval by the user or to be declined by the user. For each event one of an approval of the event or a rejection of the event is received. A workflow is executed for the approval or rejection of the event.

Abstract: An integrated security system integrates broadband and mobile access and control with conventional security systems and premise devices to provide a tri-mode security network that with remote connectivity and access. The integrated security system includes a touchscreen providing security keypad functionality as well as content management and presentation, and is used as a security system interface and an interface for interacting with a network. The integrated security system delivers remote premise monitoring and control functionality to conventional monitored premise protection and complements existing premise protection equipment. The integrated security system integrates into the premise network and couples wirelessly with the conventional security panel, enabling broadband access to premise security systems. Automation devices can be added, enabling users to remotely see live video or pictures and control home devices via a personal web portal, mobile phone, or other client device.

Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring a premises are described. A touchscreen device may receive data from a security system that comprises a sensor, a video camera, or other devices. The touchscreen device determines one or more actions to perform by analyzing the data. The touchscreen device may determine to output, via a user interface, a message associated with the data. The message may comprise an indication of video associated with the data. If user input requesting the video is received, then video associated with the data may be output to a user.

Abstract: A dental pick logger and counter is described. In some examples, a dental pick logger and counter can include a microcontroller unit and a sensor, wherein the sensor, upon detecting a dental pick, can trigger the dental pick logger and counter to update a dental pick log by incrementing an existing dental pick count and recording the date/time of each detection. The dental pick logger and counter can also include a display to present the updated dental pick count. The dental pick logger and counter can further include a speaker/buzzer, a battery, and mounting hardware. The display and the speaker can provide feedback to a user of the dental pick. In some examples, the microcontroller unit can be enabled to send the updated dental pick count over a network using a messaging protocol and connected to a global positioning system (GPS) to track a location of the dental pick logger and counter in some implementations.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for recommending content restrictions to a user based on chatter in a social network of the user. The system analyzes chatter in the social network to identify a correlation between what is posted by users and the content that the users are posting about. The system stores a mapping between chatter and expected attributes of the content referenced by the chatter. The system will determine whether to block the content when an expected attribute is associated with a content restriction.

A user interface may be output to a user. The user interface may represent at least one floor of the premise. Abstract: In various examples, sensor data recorded in the real-world may be leveraged to generate transformed, additional, sensor data to test one or more functions of a vehicle—such as a function of an AEB, CMW, LDW, ALC, or ACC system. Sensor data recorded by the sensors may be augmented, transformed, or otherwise updated to represent sensor data corresponding to state information defined by a simulation test profile for testing the vehicle function(s). Once a set of test data has been generated, the test data may be processed by a system of the vehicle to determine the efficacy of the system with respect to any number of test criteria. As a result, a test set including additional or alternative instances of sensor data may be generated from real-world recorded sensor data to test a vehicle in a variety of test scenarios—including those that may be too dangerous to test in the real-world.

Abstract: A sensor for measuring thermal conductivity includes an insulator, a test material over the insulator, a conductor over the test material, and a gas within an open volume adjacent the test material and the conductor. An electrical source is configured to provide an alternating current through the conductor to heat the test material. Leads are connected to the conductor and configured to connect to a voltmeter. A method of measuring thermal conductivity includes disposing the sensor in a reactor core in which a nuclear fuel undergoes irradiation and radioactive decay. An alternating current is provided from the electrical source through the conductor to heat the test material. A voltage is measured as a function of time at the leads connected to the conductor. A thermal conductivity of the test material is calculated based on the voltage measured as a function of time. Methods of forming a sensor are also disclosed.

A download station retrieves cutaneous action potentials of a patient recorded over a time by an ECG device as ECG data. An R-R interval plot of the ECG data includes R-R intervals plotted along an x-axis of the plot and heart rates associated with the R-R intervals plotted along a y-axis. The R-R intervals are calculated as a difference between recording times of successive pairs of R-wave peaks. Each heart rate is associated with each time difference. One or more portions of the R-R intervals are identified in the plot. Each portion of the R-R intervals includes a cardiac event. Report strips are generated and each includes one portion of the R-R intervals and a portion of the ECG data. The report strips are included in a cardiac report for the patient.
