  • Patent number: 5216576
Abstract: An adjustable frame is slidable front-to-back within slots in cross members rigidly mounted to the box of a panel board assembly, as the last step in the installation procedure, by virtue of lips which allow drawing the frame forwardly into contact with the door frame assembly after it is secured to the box. The frame has slotted holes cooperating with bolts in the cross members, which can be tightened after assembly and adjustment is completed. Panels which mount electrical protective devices or serve as filler plates are trapped in slots formed in sideward-adjustable side rails which are thereafter secured by bolts to the cross pieces.

  • Patent number: 5193666
Abstract: A remote actuator for an enclosed molded case circuit breaker or disconnect switch utilizes an actuator cable connection with the circuit breaker operating handle in a "pull-pull" arrangement. The cable is arranged in an endless loop between the actuator handle and the circuit breaker operating handle. Moving the actuator handle in a first direction pulls the circuit breaker operating handle to its ON position while moving the actuator handle in an opposite direction pulls the circuit breaker operating handle to its OFF positoin. A retractable handle extender on the actuator handle increases the torquing force applied to the actuator handle and the circuit breaker operating handle.

  • Patent number: 5113312
Abstract: A combination panelboard-switchboard housing accepts plug-on connection with a plurality of electric switch-circuit breaker modules. Circuit breakers can also be directly connected onto the bus bars in a plug-on connection with minor modification. The bus bars are "edge-mounted" such that the minor dimension of the bus bars is perpendicular to the bottom of the housing to receive the modules as well as the circuit breakers, per se. Electrical insulation shields are arranged over those bus bars that are not connected with the circuit breakers or modules to prevent inadvertent contact with the bus bars when energized. The tabs extending from the edge of the insulation shields are keyed to accommodate for the different widths of the modules when the insulation shields are flush-mounted against one side of the modules.

  • Patent number: 4959514
Abstract: A Fusible electric switch is herein described for increased ratings within industrial electrical distribution circuits by the provision of an arc exhaust gas controller. The arc gas controller cools and deionizes the arc gases that are generated upon separation of the switch contacts and exhausts the gases in a predetermined direction outside the switch enclosure. Fuse pullers are arranged at one end of each of the switch fuses to facilitate both installation and removal of the fuses.

  • Patent number: 4945450
Abstract: A multi-component electric switch-circuit breaker module permits electric switches and circuit breakers to be field-installed within existing panelboard-switchboard enclosures. The module contains a pair of compartments that are accessed by separate doors. Electric switches or circuit breakers can be arranged within both compartments or an electric switch can be installed within one compartment with an electric circuit breaker installed within the other. The module is removably attached to the panelboard-switchboard interior by means of a bail handle arrangement. The module is removed from the assembly by unscrewing the bail handle and manually accessing the module. Spring-loaded connector clips allow for repeated connection with and disconnection from the systems power bus with minimum contact resistance.

  • Patent number: 4902864
Abstract: A fast operating disconnect switch minimizes the arc that occurs when the switch contacts are opened or closed by operation of a rotor assembly while the switch is electrically energized. A powerful operating spring within the operating mechanism under the control of a handle operator assembly overcenters upon the ON-OFF as well as OFF-ON movement of the handle operator. The handle operator assembly is adapted for either left-hand or right-hand mounting to a common rotor assembly.
