Abstract: An attractant apparatus for use by animals. This apparatus is characterized as having surfaces on which the animal can play, scratch, and rub and a retainer for an animal attractant, such as catnip, used to induce such activity. The retainer may be opened to allow for the introduction and removal of the attractant. This cover is characterized as permitting odors emanating from the catnip to pass through, so as to induce play in the animal. An overlay partially covers the retainer to restrict direct access by the animal to the attractant held within the retainer, but allows partial access near the retainer and an additional surface and area for playing.

Abstract: A litter box for use by house pets, such as cats having structure for mechanical separation of clumped litter and waste material from unsoiled litter and subsequent return of unsoiled litter for later use. The litter box preferably includes a first section for receiving both clean litter and the animal preparing to use the device. The first section is separated from a second section by an upstanding sieve or sifting member. The apparatus further includes a removable collection tray for receiving waste material for final disposition after separation. A method of cleaning steps which include lateral rotation and counter-rotation of the device is also disclosed.

Tubular frame members are joined by connectors, thereby forming a modular component. Each connector has a plurality of bores, each one of which is adapted to receive an end of a selected frame member. The connectors further connect multiple modular components to form a feline play structure. Flexible web members may be suspended from selected frame members, to form sides. Appurtenance in the form of playthings may be attached at various locations on the play structure such that many modular configuration combinations are available to the pet owner. A kit for a selected modular component may be formed comprising frame members, connectors, flexible webs, and assembly instructions.

Abstract: A collapsible container according to the present invention comprises a plurality of side panels and a floor panel forming an enclosure having an open top. Each side panel comprises a flexible frame, a web of material, and an edging material. At least one of the panel frames comprises a discontinuous loop. The edging envelops the frame and is coupled to the periphery of the web. One or more handles may be attached to the container or formed within one or more of the side panels. A method of making and collapsing the container is also disclosed.
