  • Patent number: 8438968
Abstract: A coffeemaker includes a bottom of a coffeemaker adapted to be placed onto and supported by a surface. Three or more wheel assemblies are mounted onto the bottom of the coffeemaker. The wheel assemblies rotate in substantially a straight line. The wheel assemblies are mounted on an imaginary circle on the bottom of the coffeemaker, and the straight line of rotation of each of the wheels is substantially tangent to the imaginary circle.

  • Patent number: 6298770
Abstract: A coffee maker has a housing having an upstanding tower, a carafe support platform extending horizontally forward from the lower end of the tower, and a fixed, tubular filter basket support extending horizontally forward from the upper end of the housing above the platform. A horizontal filter basket cover, including a water spreader, is disposed above the filter basket support and carried by the housing for pivotal movement about a vertical axis. A cover pivotal about a horizontal axis is provided over a water reservoir defined by the housing. A valve mechanism is provided that operates upon pivoting of the filter basket cover to selectively permit heated water to be supplied to the water spreader, thereby preventing burns or the like from heated water when the water spreader is not located above the filter basket support. The coffee maker also includes an electronic controller having a control pad on the front surface of the housing platform.

  • Patent number: 6283013
Abstract: This invention relates to a tea steeper that enables an automatic drip coffeemaker to brew tea as well as coffee. The tea steeper comprises a cylindrical body having perforated side walls, a perforated bottom wall, and an open top surrounded by a support rim. A pair of upwardly extending finger grips are provided to enable one to easily grasp the tea steeper. In use, the support rim rests atop the spout of a carafe for suspending the tea steeper within the carafe. The carafe may also contain a pivotal lid which closes over the spout but does not engage the support rim or finger grip portions of the tea steeper resting atop the spout.

  • Patent number: 5957036
Abstract: A spring-biased valve lever on the bottom of a coffee maker brew basket is pivoted to open the brewed liquid outlet of the brew basket in response to the rotation of a valve actuator caused by the placement of a carafe on the warmer plate of the coffee maker. The valve actuator is mounted for rotation about a vertical axis and has two horizontally movable arms, one which is engaged by the carafe and one which engages and presses downwardly on the rearward end of the valve lever.

  • Patent number: 5503060
Abstract: A coffeemaker has a housing with a water reservoir, a top cover defining a fill port leading to the reservoir, and a heating chamber below the water reservoir. The housing includes a platform on which a thermal carafe can be placed in readiness for brewing. An automatic drip heater assembly pumps heated water to a brew basket which is removably mounted in brew basket holder pivotally mounted on the housing. The coffeemaker is used with a thermal carafe having a housing which houses an insulated container, preferably a double-walled vacuum bottle. A removable top lid is threadedly connected to the top of the carafe housing and has a gasket which, when the carafe top lid is threaded completely onto the housing, is in heat sealing relation to an opening to the insulated container.

  • Patent number: 4564830
Abstract: An expulsion type fuse cutout fuseholder structural assembly (10) including a fuse tube assembly (12) having a bone fiber liner (40) and a sleeve insert (36) coaxially disposed entirely interiorly within an insulative outer covering or wrapping (14). A rabbet joint is defined between the mated ends of the liner (40) and sleeve insert (36) by means of a counterbored portion (48) of the liner (40) and an axially projecting tubular portion (44) of the sleeve insert (36). In addition, each of the bone fiber liner (40) and sleeve insert (36) components is provided with a spiral groove (42,38) within which the inner layers of the outer covering or wrapping (14) are disposed during the wrapping fabrication of the fuse tube assembly (12).
