A ballistic protective article may include an aromatic polyamide fabric that is coated with an elastomeric adhesive polymer coating, with calcium carbonate and a carbonaceous material embedded in the elastomeric adhesive polymer coating. The carbonaceous material may include at least one material selected from graphene, carbon nanofiber, and carbon nanotubes.
