Publication number: 20120245982Abstract: Method of providing and presenting content to a user is disclosed. A user may provide inputs such as categories, topics, key words; inputs as to quantity, quality, emphasis and/or inclusion; inputs as to order of presentation, geography or temporal characteristics. These inputs are used to create a presentation format. This format is populated with content using a systemic program and algorithms. The content comes from various sources. The sources are selected by a secondary party that is not the user. A user may interact with the presentation by skipping, saving, rewinding, indicating like or dislike or requesting more related content. User interactivity is recorded by the systemic program. The systemic program records what content has been presented to a specific user so that a subsequent presentation does not repeat content. One result of this method is a personalized news and information radio station.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2012Publication date: September 27, 2012Inventor: Dean A. Daniel

Patent number: 7918829Abstract: A spring-loaded clip for removably attaching a catheter hub to the skin of a patient. The clip includes first and second needle members pivotably connected on a common axis and closable with their respective arcuate needle elements interlocked within the skin of a patient. A bias spring urges the first and second needle elements into a preferred position, preferably the closed position. Each needle member includes a lever for use in opening and closing the clip and also includes a grasping element for capturing a catheter hub as the clip closes. Preferably, the needle elements are curved through about 120°, are sharpened to a point at a first end, and are joined to a pivot element at the opposite end. No separate conventional suturing of a catheter hub to a patient is required.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2009Date of Patent: April 5, 2011Inventors: Richard Dean Daniels, Jr., Cynthia B. Daniels, Robert C. Brown

Publication number: 20100264218Abstract: An electronic token system includes a token receptacle, having a housing with a receiver channel, and a token for insertion in the receiver channel on an insertion path defined by one or more receiver-channel guide surfaces. The token includes a data exchange circuit and a plurality of electrical contacts in a planar array exposed on a contact surface of the token in electrical coupling with the data exchange circuit. A plurality of spring-loaded probe contacts are mounted in the token receptacle, the probe contacts each having a plunger movable by spring action in a direction generally orthogonal to the planar array of electrical contacts on an inserted token and having a contact tip for receipt at a corresponding one of the electrical contacts in the planar array. A stop is provided on the token for contacting a travel limiter on the token receptacle, the stop and travel limiter being configured to define full insertion of the token into the receiver channel.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 29, 2008Publication date: October 21, 2010Applicant: Datakey Electronics, IncInventors: Dean Daniels, William Stifle

Publication number: 20100162463Abstract: The present invention is a knitted cloth mitten for the hand(s) preferably comprised of nylon, polyester and Lycra that is closed on one end and open on the opposite end. The open end has a knitted collar around the mitten with a small cut or opening to allow for insertion of a releasable cable tie. A piece of plastic is adhered to the palm portion of the mitten, from the fingertips to the middle of the palm, to make the palm area rigid. A releasable cable tie is threaded through the collar and around the open part of the mitten. After an individual's hands are restrained using properly placed and properly secured handcuffs, the present invention will be slid over an individual's hands with the rigid (plastic) side of the mitten to the palm side of the hand. The mitten will be extended to stop just below the handcuffs. The releasable cable tie is then pulled taught around the wearer's wrist, so as to not allow removal by the wearer.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2008Publication date: July 1, 2010Inventors: Johnny Dean Daniels, John William Green, JR., Wing Yan Thomas Lau

Patent number: 5806075Abstract: The present invention provides the ability to replicate modifications made at a local site to multiple remote sites in a peer-to-peer environment. Information regarding these replicated modifications (e.g., insert, delete, or update) are contained in a set of replication tables. Thus, modifications can be duplicated at other sites immediately after the original modification, or deferred until the remote site is available. The replication tables of the present invention include a transactions table, transaction nodes table, calls table, call nodes table, and an exceptions table. The present invention further provides a logic-oriented procedure-level replication. Procedure-level replication modifies a remote site based on the logical operations used to modify the data at the originating site. Procedure-level replication provides the ability to identify conflicting updates as well. Information concerning conflicts identified by the present invention can be retained in the replication tables.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1997Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Oracle CorporationInventors: Sandeep Jain, Dean Daniels
