Abstract: The present invention relates to a nutritional product, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of acne and related skin disorders. The invention also relates to a composition having a combination of ingredients such that it reduces symptoms associated with acne and related skin disorders. The invention relates to such a composition containing a variety of vitamins, minerals and one or more herbal medicine sources. In one preferred embodiment, the vitamins, minerals and one or more herbal medicine sources are present in an amount such that its mechanism of action is through inhibition of the growth of Propionobacterium acnes (P. acnes) and the inhibition of lipogenesis of sebum production. In another preferred embodiment, the invention contains a Vitamin A source to normalize keratinoid maturation, proliferation and turnover of skin cells. In another preferred embodiment, the invention further contains at least one of a Vitamin E source or Selenium.
