  • Patent number: 7559456
Abstract: A mailbox delivery indicator system (700) for indicating when the mailbox door has been opened includes a signal ball (600) and a signal holder arm (501, 503, 505) extending laterally from the front face of a mailbox door. The signal holder arm (501, 503, 505) includes a ring section (507) for holding the signal ball (600) such that the ring section (507) includes a locking member (513). The locking member (513) extends from an edge of the ring section (507) for engaging with a clevis (603) on the signal ball (600) to hold the signal ball (600) in a fixed position within the ring section (507). The mailbox delivery indicator system (700) works to signal the user that mail has been delivered when the signal ball (600) is disengaged from the locking member (513).

  • Publication number: 20060261142
Abstract: A mailbox bracket assembly (400) for attachment to an existing mailbox door (105) operates to provide a signal when the mailbox door (105) has been opened. The mailbox assembly (400) includes a signal holder arm (101) perpendicularly mounted from the face of a mailbox door (105). A ring section is used for holding a signal ball connected to the signal holder arm while a guard section may be used for blocking objects from inadvertently contacting the signal ball. The signal holder arm (101) extends from the mailbox body such that the position of the signal ball can be easily observed from the rear of the mailbox.

  • Publication number: 20050269392
Abstract: A mail delivery indicator assembly (100) for a mailbox (102) with a door (105) includes a signal holder bracket (101) attached to a mailbox door (105). A signal ball (108) is attached by a tether (110) to the signal holder bracket (101) for indicating when the mailbox door is opened. The signal holder bracket (101) attaches within a holder receptacle (109) attached to the mailbox door (105) which allows the signal holder bracket (101) to be removed. The signal holder bracket (101) may further include an offset section (103) for allowing the bracket to be attached to a recessed door. Additionally, the signal holder bracket may include one or more guards (112, 114) which prevent snow other debris from inadvertently removing the signal ball (108) from the ring section (107).
