Abstract: Management of the internationalization of software applications of a portal framework employs a navigation graphical user interface. A set of available locales for objects are provided to a first set of users as defined by a set of permissions for each locale in the set of locales. Each locale in the set of available locales represents a cultural scenario that is stored as a property file. Locales can be added to, and removed from, the portal framework in accordance with administrative privileges employing a graphical user interfaces. Locales can be edited for uploading to the portal framework in accordance with administrative privileges employing a graphical user interfaces. Locales can downloaded to the portal framework in accordance with administrative privileges employing a graphical user interfaces.

Abstract: Graphical user interfaces are provided for administrators to perform administration type operations. Sets of users granted administrative privileges may further grant and delegate administrative privileges to other sets of users to perform administration type operations on site objects over which they have administrative privileges. The types of graphical user interfaces includes server consoles and site consoles. Server consoles enable the performance of administration on all objects within the framework. Site consoles enable the performance of administration within a respective site.

Abstract: The sharing of objects may be executed by performing various share type administrations. Objects may be shared directly to a site or may be made available indirectly for reuse by a site. The objects shared and made available for reuse may be added to the site to which they are shared and made available for reuse. References to the objects shared and made available for reuse are stored in repositories in response to, and in accordance with, the share type administration performed. The storage of the references to objects is based on privileges associated with at least one of a repository, a site and a user. Objects made available for reuse by, and shared to, a site may be made unavailable for reuse by, and unshared to, the site through the execution of a share type administration.
