Abstract: A product display system comprising a display surface; a height sensor for determining a height of a user; an input device for receiving a product selection from the user, where the product selection corresponding to one or more products; a computing device coupled to the height sensor and to the input device, the computing device comprising a frame buffer for outputting images to be displayed on the display surface, the computing device being configured to: receive the product selection from the input device; receive the height from the height sensor and, based on the height, determine a viewing angle of the user in relation to the display surface; and write to the frame buffer one or more images comprising virtual versions of the one or more products, thereby causing the one or more images to be displayed on the display surface, the one or more images corresponding to said viewing angle.

Abstract: A system and method for a display device is provided. An image display that displays at least one image of at least one of a product and person is coupled to a support structure, and at least one shelf may be operatively coupled to the support structure. Further, at least one database stores a plurality of queries and replies to the queries, and at least one processor is provided that is operatively coupled to the database. The processor(s) programmed and configured to receive from the database at least one reply to a first query. The processor is further configured to transmit at least one instruction to the display for rendering a plurality of images of the person, wherein the rendered images of the person include providing the at least one reply to the first query.

An intelligent personal assistant is displayed to provide information to a user, for example, in a public space. Movement of the image shown as the intelligent personal assistant may be suppressed or restricted at various parts of the person's body, such as below a chin or above the eyebrow. In addition, the database may be provided that stores queries and replies to the queries so as to respond to the user's questions. The system could also notify personnel or staff if additional assistance is required.

The shelving system includes: a plurality of shelves; at least one display screen; at least one camera, for optically detecting the contents of each one of the shelves; and at least one computing device in communication with the display screen and the at least one camera for presenting sales and promotional information on the display screen in dependence on the contents of the compartments as sensed by the sensors.

A user may inspect or select any of the items. A computer or other processing unit may supply the content of the images. Preferably, realistic 3D images of objects are rendered by graphics design software enabling the user to select an item, rotate it, and view it from any angle.

Abstract: A human intelligence personal assistance system and method is disclosed. A user interacts with an audio and video image of a person. Inputs from the user request performance of one or more tasks including passive requests activated by mere motion detection. Thus the user may actively request tasks such as email review or passively trigger tasks such as sales assistance. Depending upon the complexity of the task, either a human operator or a computer may assist the user. The audio and video image communicates with the user in synchronization with downloaded results.

Abstract: A gift registry system is provided. The system comprises a data store configured to store an item code and an item description associated with the item code. The item code corresponds to an item available for selection at a gift seller's establishment and is displayed in conjunction with the item. The system also comprises a portable registry unit in communication with the data store. The registry unit is configured to receive the item code entered by a registrant while attending the gift seller's establishment, acquire from the data store the corresponding item description, present the acquired item description to the registrant, and, communicate an update-registry instruction to effect an update of the gift registry. The system also comprises a registry module that is in communication with the registry unit. The registry module is configured to receive the update-registry instruction from the registry unit, and update the gift registry in accordance with the received instruction.
