  • Patent number: 7904199
Abstract: This invention is a vending machine and components parts that include a sophisticated positioning system, gripper and trays for improved efficiency in product retrieval and delivery. A unique initialization and calibration system is implemented at start up to determine the positions of shelves and trays of product containers in the machine, and may be implemented at other times if trays or shelves are added or removed, or if tray or shelf positions change. These positions are then used by the positioning and gripping systems to accurately and efficiently retrieve products from the trays. Related methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7823750
Abstract: This invention is a vending machine and components parts that include a sophisticated product retrieval and delivery system. Following product selection, the positioning system quickly transports a retrieval device to the front of a tray queue where a product container is retrieved. The positioning system transports the gripper carrying the product container to a delivery port. The product is released and slides down a specially designed chute into a specially designed delivery bucket that is then tilted outward for customer pick up. Sensors associated with the bucket detect the delivery and removal of the product container. Related methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7451891
Abstract: This invention is a vending machine and components parts that include a sophisticated positioning system, gripper and trays for improved efficiency in product retrieval and delivery. Following product selection, the positioning system quickly transports the gripper through the X-Y plane to the front of a tray queue containing the selected product. The gripper is extended in the Z-direction, and its fingers grasp the foremost product container in the queue. The gripper then retracts, and the positioning system transports the gripper carrying the product container to a delivery port. The gripper then releases the product which slides down a chute into a delivery bucket that is then tilted outward for customer pick up. Unique product storage trays are provided which work in conjunction with the gripper to allow only the foremost product to be removed from a tray queue. A specially designed door is provided to accommodate the X-Y positioning system.

  • Patent number: 6568607
Abstract: An emitter (30) has a body section (40) and an outlet chamber member (50). The outlet chamber member (50) has wings (52, 53) that have free ends. The free ends are deformable to form a number of varying sized diameters so that the emitter (30) may be used in various diameter conduits (100). The emitter (30) may also have a deeper well portion for use in attaching a fitting (90) thereto. The emitter (300) has a first chamber (332) and a second chamber (352) which also provide for a deeper portion for use in attachment of a fitting (90) thereon.

  • Patent number: 5480172
Abstract: A three-wheeled competition wheelchair apparatus (10) including a wheelchair frame (11) having a beam (12) extending generally from an aft portion to a fore portion thereof. A seat assembly (15) includes a seat frame (16) carried by and supported on the wheelchair frame (11). A footrest assembly (17) includes a seat support post (20, 20') having one end movably mounted to the seat frame (16), and an opposite end, carrying footrest plates (21, 21), which is movably mounted longitudinally along the frame beam (12). The three-wheeled competition wheelchair (10) permits selective adjustment of the footrest assembly (17) between the fore and the aft position of the beam (12). Hence, the cumulative center of gravity of the wheelchair apparatus (10) and the occupant can be moved closer to effect the cumulative moment of inertia about the wheelchair pivoting vertical axis to enable more stable and shorter radius turning.
