  • Publication number: 20160194889
Abstract: A safety rail support for wood framed building construction or structural middle stud framing mounts to a stud for a wooden framed building structure for a horizontal rail to be mounted between a first safety rail support and a second safety rail support. The horizontal rail prevents construction personnel working on the building from falling from a height which could injure or be fatal. The safety rail support includes a stud mount an elongated vertical support, at least one adjustable rail support bracket, and a hanger bracket. The stud mount and the hanger bracket secure the safety rail support to the stud frame of the building structure. The elongated vertical support provides a medium for the forces placed on the horizontal rail to be transferred to the stud of the building structure. The at least one adjustable rail is mounted onto the elongated vertical support in order to support and retain the horizontal rail.

  • Publication number: 20120043761
Abstract: A wind turbine housing is provided for mounting to the roof of a building. The housing defines a Venturi pathway for collecting and accelerating wind to one or more rotors, which are coupled to one or more generators. The rotors are housed in the throat of the Venturi such that wind is accelerated to the rotors to maximize energy generation. The generators may be located within an upper chamber of the housing. The Venturi structure may be formed, in part, by the roof line of the building. A series of wind turbine housings may be mounted atop a single building and wired for use within the building, with excess power converted to AC and delivered to the associated power grid.

  • Patent number: 8118074
Abstract: An apparatus and method of material bonding using captive plungers is disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a base plate to have multiple holes in an array, multiple captive plungers each surrounded by a compressible spring to couple to the multiple holes in such a way which allows each of the multiple captive plungers to vertically move in a confine of each of the multiple holes corresponding to the each of the multiple captive plungers, and a fastening device to apply a force to bond two or more parts placed on top of each other with a bonding material in between the two or more parts through pressing the base plate to the two or more parts such that the force delivered through the multiple captive plungers to the two or more parts is concentrated to the array.

  • Publication number: 20080032824
Abstract: A leg device with means for gripping, or handles, is used to aid in lifting a jumping player, especially for lineouts in Rugby Union. The simple, reusable, easy to use leg device provides a level of effectiveness, comfort, convenience, and safety not provided by conventional methods. In a leg sleeve embodiment, means for gripping include a thickened band or grip attached to a sleeve material. The means for gripping may be formed by attaching a semi-rigid material. The means for gripping may be formed by attaching extra layers in sections, in rolls, in folds. The means for gripping may be shaped to match the hand of a lifter. To use, leg sleeves are applied to the legs of a jumper. Other embodiments of leg devices include leg glove or mitt and various leg straps. An improved leg glove further comprises a non-elastic base strap. An improved leg sleeve comprises a base strap and a cross strap attached to a sleeve of stretch material.
